GSA Update \\ Sunshine Coast All Schools Touch 🏉

On Sunday 16 August, our Grace Sports Academy Touch teams competed in the Sunshine Coast All Schools competition. The students all participated well and developed throughout the day, in the lead up to their major tournament, Queensland All Schools in October.

In warm conditions, each team played 4 or 5 games throughout the day. We look forward to seeing their development as they finish off their BOSL Touch season and lead into Queensland All Schools!

YEAR 10 ECONOMICS \\ Brisbane Airport Excursion 🛫

Our Year 10 Economics Students ventured to the Brisbane Airport recently, to see first-hand how the precinct runs operationally and economically.

The students had a tour guide who gave valuable information via a bus tour, before getting to stop at DFO for lunch and visit retail stores. Here they learned about diversification of the airport business portfolio.

National Science Week 2026! \\ Seeds of Science: Nurturing knowledge for all 🧑‍🔬🥼🔬

This week, The College celebrated National Science Week, filling the week with fun STEM-themed activities! Students got to test their engineering skills with the Paper Plane Showdown, make slime in the Science of Slime! workshop, and battled for victory in the Staff vs Student Science Survivor Challenge.

A highlight of National Science Week at Grace was the Brrr... It's Cold demonstration, where students got to see the effects of liquid nitrogen, and enjoy some yummy almost instantly-prepared ice cream!

Thank you to all of the staff involved for their hard work in making this week possible 💪

⛳Happy (early!) Father’s Day!!

Today we celebrated at our inaugural Father's Day celebration.

A wonderful morning recognising and honouring the fathers, stepfathers, grandfathers, father figures, who make a positive difference in our lives and communities. Whether through their guidance, support, encouragement, or simply by being there when needed most, they play an invaluable role in shaping the people we become.

With a few Dad jokes, breakfast, coffee, mini golf and games, we enjoyed an active morning with our Dad’s and special guests. ⛳♟️🏁

📚 ❤️ Support the Interact Club's Pre-Loved Book Drive! ❤️📚

The Grace Interact Club is excited to be leading a Pre-Loved Book Drive, collecting books for teenagers and young adults. All donated books will be given to the Redcliffe Hospital Children's Ward, helping to provide comfort, entertainment, and a welcome distraction for young people during their hospital stay.

We encourage Grace students and families to donate gently used novels and age-appropriate books for teenagers, including popular fiction, fantasy, mystery, adventure, and inspirational titles.

Donations can be made during and in the lead up to Book Week, from 17 August to 28 August, with collection boxes located in The Hub.

We hope the Grace community will get behind this meaningful student-led initiative and help us share the gift of reading with young people. Your pre-loved books could become someone else's next favourite story! 📖✨
