📚❤️ Celebrating Dolly Parton’s Incredible Legacy ❤️📚

For many years, our Kindy has proudly participated in Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library — a wonderful program that shares the joy of books and reading with young children and their families.

Following the news of Dolly’s passing, we wanted to acknowledge the incredible legacy she leaves behind. Since beginning in 1995, the Imagination Library has grown to provide millions of free books to children around the world.

We feel very fortunate to be part of this special program and to see the excitement when our Kindy children receive their very own book in the mail each month. There is something very special about a book arriving just for them! 📖💌

What a wonderful gift Dolly has given to generations of children — nurturing a love of books, stories, imagination and reading that will continue for many years to come. ❤️

Thank you, Dolly, for helping to put books into the hands and hearts of so many children. 📚✨

🥇 First Place – Early Childhood Section at the Rosewood Show! 🥇

We are proud to share that our Kindergarten display was awarded First Place in the Early Childhood Section at this year’s Rosewood Show.

‘I Am Me’ has been one of our Kindy children’s favourite songs to sing throughout the year. Through singing and discussing its powerful message, the children have been exploring children’s rights, identity, culture and belonging.

‘I Am Me’ was written and performed by proud First Nations educator Aunty Sharron mirii Bell, and the accompanying book illustrated by Amanda Letcher. Developed in partnership with Children’s Rights Queensland, the song and book celebrate every child’s identity, culture and rights.

With permission from Aunty Sharron, we used this beautiful song as the inspiration for our Rosewood Show display, helping us share its important message about children’s rights, identity, culture and belonging. We wanted our display to focus on the message that every child has the right to be happy and healthy, the right to celebrate their culture, to enjoy nutritious food, to feel safe in their home, and to learn, play and belong.

Our display showcased the children’s artwork, drawings and creative projects, alongside many of the books, resources and learning experiences we use every day to help children understand these important rights in meaningful, age-appropriate ways.

We encourage our Kindy families to visit the Rosewood Show today and enjoy the many wonderful displays created by local schools and early childhood services. We love having opportunities to share our Kindy program, children’s learning and the important messages we explore together with our wider community.

Relief Contract Cleaner Wanted

C&K Rosewood & District Community Kindergarten located at 54 John Street Rosewood, is seeking a reliable Relief Contract Cleaner for a 10-week period during Term 3 (13th July - 18th September 2026) with the possibility of ongoing part-time contract work after this time.

Hours:
• Monday to Thursday – 1 hour per day (before 7.00am or after 4:30pm) (excluding Wed 5th Aug and Wed 2nd Sept)
• Friday (or over the weekend) – 2 hours
• Total: 6 hours per week

Applicants must:
✔ Hold their own Public Liability Insurance and ABN
✔ Supply their own cleaning products and equipment (vacuum cleaner supplied by the Kindy)
✔ Be reliable and able to work independently

This week we are celebrating Under 8’s Week — a special time to recognise the importance of childhood, play, learning, laughter and creativity.

This year marks 70 years of Under 8’s Week, celebrating generations of children learning through play, building friendships, exploring ideas and being supported to grow, belong and thrive.

Families are also welcome to attend the many Under 8’s Week celebrations being held at our local schools. These events are open to all families, even if your child will not be attending that school for Prep.

At Kindy, we love celebrating the joy, curiosity and voices of young children every day. 💛
