Taught by industry professionals, Ku-ring-gai Art Centre offers visual art, creative writing and guitar classes for all levels of experience, from timid beginners to advanced students! Held in light airy studios that are constantly filled with creativity, the art centre provides a friendly and stimulating atmosphere. Outstanding facilities include French hydraulic presses in the print room, pottery and sculpture studio with five kilns, well-equipped studios and an exhibition gallery.

Nature Bouquet & Botanical Illustration

Combine flower arrangement and illustrations in this one-of-a-kind workshop! Children will explore the beautiful natural environment surrounding the Art Centre, gathering resources for their own unique bouquet to share with family or friends. Inside, they will develop observational, illustrative, and painting skills as they create their own artwork inspired by their bouquet and the outdoors. This workshop is a mix of natural exploration and artistic expression perfect for those with an appreciation for nature.

This fun and creative workshop will teach young artists how to use watercolour techniques to create their own expressive pet portrait, from capturing those adorable eyes to all the little details that make a pet special.

And don’t have a pet? No problem! 🐔😂 We’ve got you covered with the ultimate local companion… the bin chicken!

Perfect for young creatives, this hands-on workshop will show students how to customise sneakers, denim, T-shirts and tote bags using vibrant POSCA markers. They'll learn creative fabric-marking techniques to make their designs last, while giving old favourites a fresh new look.

Led by experienced art tutor Marguerite, this workshop takes a fine art approach to building confidence, creativity and self-expression while exploring composition, colour, line, texture and more.

Students will begin by collecting natural resources, then using fabric paint, transform a reusable tote bag into something entirely unique to show off to friends and family! Capturing the majesty and movement of a breaching whale is no easy feat, especially in watercolour!

Congratulations to our student John, who is embracing the challenge under the guidance of tutor Shipra Shah. There’s still a little way to go, but we think this is already looking really fantastic.

It’s wonderful to see our students pushing their creativity, experimenting with technique and bringing their ideas to life.
