Join us at a Teacher Professional Development Day next FRIDAY 26 NOVEMBER, exploring the journey of producing healthy grapes, from vineyard to table. This Australian Curriculum linked workshop explores plant adaptations, science inquiry, and healthy plant production.

This PD workshop includes visits to two EcoVineyards in the Clare Valley, where Dr Mary Retallack will share her research expertise in enhancing the resilience and biodiversity of vineyards through insectary plants. Teachers will receive free plant experiment kits which your students can grow back in the classroom, as well as activity resources to help deliver the food and fibre components of the curriculum.

Look who we caught up with!
These five participated in the Science Investigation Awards and Careers Camp a few years ago while they were in High School. The best thing is, they've stayed in touch and are now studying together.
People who ag together, stay together.
🙌👏👇

Bel ran into some familiar faces at the Growing the Future event last night. She first met these fabulous-five a few years ago when they participated in a Food & Fibre Education SA program while in high school.
It is so *exciting* to see them ALL on their career pathway in ag as they study a Bachelor of Ag Science at The University of Adelaide! We are proud to have played a part in showcasing the amazing ag sector to them. Selecting a career pathway is often the sum total of many small parts played over a number of years by family, friends, teachers, mentors and more!
We wish these five all the best with their studies and career! You are all great assets to our ag industry!

Are you set to start an agriculture degree in 2021? You're not alone! 2021 sees an increase in University offerings for ag degrees.
Congratulations to all those who are entering the ag industry!
Thanks ABC Rural for this encouraging read.

At a time when universities are desperate to fill the void left by international students caused by the pandemic, there's been a spike in enrolments in agricultural science courses as young Australians take advantage of lower fees and good job prospects.

Our team loves to celebrate the important work science plays in every day life. Today, we remember the role of Warrant Officer (II) D. Anderson, and so many others, played in supporting the war effort with science.
Thanks to the Australian War Memorial for sharing this story.

Melbourne, Australia 1943. Warrant Officer (II) D. Anderson of the Australian Women's Army Service, examining army ration jam with a refractometer to determine the sugar content. Nearest the camera is a gauge for checking the vacuum in the tins, and in the background, an instrument which indicates the acidity of the contents. This work was carried out at the branch of the army food testing laboratory in the William Angliss Food Trades School.
