Dear All,
A week ago I wrote to let you know BGMS was going into liquidation. I'm writing now with an unexpected development.

A serious buyer has come forward with interest in continuing the school under new management. We're currently in discussions—financials have been exchanged, due diligence is underway. This is not certain yet, but it's real enough that I wanted to keep you informed.

Trading remains ceased, but I've held off commencing the formal liquidation process while these discussions take place.
I expect to have a clearer picture within the next week. If the sale proceeds, there will be continuity for the school and your projects.

If it doesn't, we'll proceed with liquidation and the arrangements for collecting builds and stored timber.

I know this creates uncertainty after what was already difficult news. I'm being as transparent as I can be about where things stand.

More news when I have it.

Dear BGMS Students

I'm writing with news I never wanted to deliver. Brisbane Guitar Making School is going into voluntary liquidation, effective immediately.

The law is clear: once a business becomes insolvent, a director cannot continue to trade. We've reached that point.

Despite strong enrolment—numbers that should have sustained us: attendance has been insufficient to keep the doors open. I've fought to keep this going, but the financial reality is what it is.

I'm devastated by this. We built something together, a community, a space where guitars took shape and people found their way into this craft. That it ends this way is heartbreaking.

What happens from here:

I'll be working with Jono, Rod, and the liquidation administrators so you can collect your guitar builds and any timber stored at the workshop. I'll provide details on the collection process as soon as arrangements are confirmed.

If you have outstanding credits or prepayments, these will be listed as creditor claims with the liquidator, who will manage refunds through the standard liquidation process.

I know you'll have questions I can't answer right now. The liquidation has its own requirements and timeline. I'll share information as it becomes available.

Thank you for being part of what we built. I'm sorry it couldn't continue.
