🎉 PBL CLASS REWARDS DAY 🎉

Our students have spoken, and the votes are in! 🗳️

On the last day of term, Friday 26 June, each class will enjoy a reward activity chosen through a class vote as part of our Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) program.

🍕 Prep/1 & Year 1/2 – Pizza, Popcorn & Pyjama Party
🎬 Year 3/4 – Stress Balls, Movie, Snacks & Tech Time
⚽🍕 Year 5/6 – Soccer, Build Your Own Pizza, Movie & Treats

At Rocklea State School, we value student voice and love providing opportunities for students to have input into decisions that affect them. These celebrations are a fantastic way to recognise positive engagement while building a strong sense of belonging and community.

🦷 Healthy Mouth Day – Free Oral Health Checks! 🦷

A reminder to parents and carers that students have the opportunity to access a FREE oral health screening through our upcoming Healthy Mouth Days.

✅ Students must be registered to participate
📄 Spare consent forms are available from the school office

🌟 Our New House Shirts Are Coming! 🌟👕

We are excited to share that our new Rocklea State School house shirts will soon be on their way!

Thanks to a fantastic design process led by our students, each house shirt reflects student voice and choice, with designs voted on within house groups. We are so proud of the creativity and ownership shown throughout this process.

✅ Every student will receive their first house shirt FREE
🛍️ Additional shirts will be available for purchase through the P&C uniform shop
🏃 Students will be able to wear their house shirts on their PE day

📅 Save the date!
Our first official day wearing house shirts will be at our School Sports Day on Wednesday 29th July!

A thank you to our students for their thoughtful and enthusiastic design contributions. Our heartfelt thanks to our amazing P&C for their hard work and support in bringing our new house groups together, they are coordinating shirt sizes across this week from the samples we have been sent by the supplier.

We can’t wait to see our students proudly wearing their house colours!

🛴 Wheels on Wednesday – Bring your bike or scooter (helmets required)
🥪 Tuckshop – Thursday (orders must be placed by Wednesday 9am)
🎤 Parade – Friday 2:45pm

🌏 Refugee Week
Next week is Refugee Week, and students may engage in learning opportunities within their classrooms to build understanding, empathy, and respect for diverse experiences and cultures.

📚 Author Visit – Thursday
Prep to Year 2 students will enjoy a special visit from Nitin, a Brisbane-based author of the children’s picture book The Dinosaurus.

We look forward to another meaningful and engaging week of learning across our school community.

With all this rain, our grounds are very wet and muddy!

🚫 We do not have spare clothes available for students who play in, or accidentally fall into, puddles.

✅ We remind all students to:
- Walk on pathways
- Avoid puddles and muddy areas
- Keep shoes and uniforms as dry as possible

👕 We also gratefully welcome donations of spare clothes to support students when needed. Otherwise, students own packed spare clothes in their school bag is an option.

Thank you for helping us keep everyone safe, dry, and ready to learn - and for having a laugh with us along the way!

☕ Parent Café – Join Us This Friday

We warmly invite parents and carers to join us for our next Parent Café this Friday at 2:00pm, held in the school staffroom.

This week, we’re pleased to introduce our new Social Worker, Melinie Ridge. This is a wonderful opportunity to meet Melinie, learn more about the role of a social worker in a school setting, and explore the supports available for students and families.

Come along for a relaxed chat, a cuppa, and the chance to connect with our school community — we’d love to see you there.

Students in Prep to Year 2 will be heading off on their excursion this Thursday.
