I have refresher course availability from the 24th November 2026.
Book by the day for our Electrical Refresher courses, depending on individual needs, we suggest anywhere from 3 days minimum if you just need to brush up and hone your skills and knowledge, to 5 days maximum to cover everything in more depth.
Designed to help you refresh the topics from your electrical apprenticeship or previous training from all those years ago, refresh your knowledge and skills essential for your Capstone assessments and in the workplace.

This course is perfect if you are an apprentice towards the end of your training, a skilled migrant, (OTSR/TSAR) completing gap training, or returning to the electrical industry after a hiatus.

This refreshes and reinforces your core electrical skills and guides you through key practical and theoretical topics, including:

Theory component run through.
Single & Three-Phase Installations
AS/NZS3008 & Cable Selection
Using AS/NZS3008 to select appropriate cable sizes for different installation types and conditions.
Maximum Demand Calculations
Reinforces skills in calculating Maximum Demand for consumer mains/sub-mains.
Volt Drop Calculations
Carry out voltage drop calculations on Consumer Mains and final sub circuits under a variety of installation conditions using V90 TPS cables and XLPE X90 cables for 230V single phase and three phase domestic installations.
Using co-ordination to justify the protective device chosen.
Cable Selection justification based on Fault Loop Impedance results.
Calculating circuit length, L Max calculation for safe and compliant installations.
Verification & Testing of Single Phase and Three Phase Installations
Complete inspection and test sheets, identify faults, and recommend rectification methods to ensure compliance and safety.
Earth Fault Loop Impedance (Zs) & RCD/RCBO Verification
Verify that RCDs and RCBOs meet regulatory requirements, measure Zs values, and accurately, understand the results and complete verification documentation.
Practical Installation Refresher
Design, install, and verify a Single Phase domestic installation including a single-phase sub-board and final sub circuits or a Three Phase domestic installation, including a three-phase main switchboard and final sub circuits.
Motor and Transformer testing.
Direct-on-line (DOL) control circuit installation and testing.

G'day folks
I have dates available for refresher courses in November and December, based in Rockingham, dedicated training room, tools, test equipment, all required paperwork and learning tools at your disposal, wire up boards, testing boards, fault finding boards, motors, transformers, everything you need to sharpen your skills and hone you times ready for formal assessments for capstone, OTSR and TSAR skills assessments, knowledge, theory, maximum demand, single and three phase.
