KOLBE’S CAREER TASTERS: A GLIMPSE INTO THE FUTURE 🚀

What does the future look like? For our Year 9s, it could be anything from marine biologist to forensic investigator, engineer, childcare educator or master chef!

Our Career Taster Day was all about exploring possibilities, trying new things and discovering what might lie ahead. From experiencing campus life at Universities to getting hands-on with VR career exploration, sports science, childcare and hospitality at Kolbe, there was plenty to discover. Others dived into marine life and conservation at AQWA or explored construction, engineering and science at SciTech.

With new experiences under their belts and future possibilities to explore, our Year 9s are one step closer to discovering where their interests could take them. The future is full of possibilities, and they’re just getting started! 🚀

INTO THE DEEP - LEADERSHIP CAMP 2026 💙💛

Big ideas, brave moves and future-focused leaders! Kolbe's Leadership Camp challenged our new student leaders to step outside their comfort zones, discover their strengths, and build meaningful connections along the way.

Inspired by Luke’s Gospel invitation to “put their nets out into the deep,” our leaders explored what it means to lead with courage, faith and excellence, bringing the Kolbe Way to life through inclusion, service, teamwork and everyday actions.

From recognising their individual gifts to sharing big ideas and building a vision for 2027, the camp was packed with energy, collaboration and plenty of inspiration! Most importantly, our leaders discovered that great leadership isn’t about standing out from the crowd, but lifting others up and bringing everyone along for the journey.

Our leaders returned with stronger connections, a renewed sense of purpose and a shared commitment to creating a College where every student feels known, valued and supported.

The ideas have been sparked, the vision is taking shape and we can’t wait to see what our leaders achieve in 2027!

Many boats. Different gifts. One guiding light. 💙💛

FROM THE KIMBERLEYS TO ROCKINGHAM 🖤💛❤️

Earlier this year, four of our dedicated teachers travelled north to Luurnpa Catholic School in Balgo Hills as part of our City-Country School Partnership. They worked alongside local teachers and students in Design & Technologies and Home Economics, sharing knowledge, ideas and experiences.

In Term 3, we’ve had the wonderful opportunity to welcome our friends from Balgo to Rockingham! As part of their Perth visit, Luurnpa students and staff explored some of what our big city has to offer, from museums and the zoo to local universities, and of course, a visit to Kolbe was a must!

Our Indigenous students, together with Aboriginal Liaison Officers Mrs Dann and Mr Williams, gave our visitors a very warm Kolbe welcome and showed them around the College. There were plenty of smiles, stories and conversations, with opportunities to discover more about each other’s cultures and experiences.

Supported by the Yadha Muru Foundation and Catholic Education WA, this special partnership has continued to grow over the past couple of years, creating meaningful connections between our communities through faith, education and cultural exchange.

From the Kimberleys to Rockingham, we are walking alongside one another, learn from each other and continue building a partnership that reaches far beyond the classroom. 🖤💛❤️

FROM THE INSIDE OUT – YEAR 10 RETREAT ❤️

What if a Retreat wasn’t about what you get, but what you GIVE?

In Term 3, our Year 10s stepped outside themselves and into the wider community, putting faith into action through service, kindness and a whole lot of heart.

👩‍🏫 They became teachers, sharing Religion lessons with local Catholic primary schools.
🍲 They cooked meals for people in need and supported Vinnies and The CREW.
🌳 They rolled up their sleeves to care for Baldivis Children’s Forest and clean up Rockingham Beach.
🎨 And they brought colour, creativity and hope to Rockingham Hospital through a vibrant mural.

At Kolbe, faith isn’t just something we talk about. It’s something we live. And sometimes, we find it in the simplest, most joy-filled moments when we open our hearts, give our time and make a difference for others. Well done, Year 10s ❤️
