Wednesday 26 August – Dress-Up Day!

Staff and students are invited to come dressed as their favourite book or movie character and join in the Book Week fun!
Students are reminded they must be wearing enclosed shoes

Student Spotlight

Congratulations to Year 10 Victoria Mellowship who was recognised for her outstanding creative artwork ‘Misa’s Obsession’ by this year’s judges for the Young Originals Exhibition.

Judges received over 200 entries from schools across WA with 106 selected for display in the exhibition at the Gallery Central at North Metropolitan TAFE. Each entry was a testament to student voice; authentic thoughtful and often deeply personal.

The official opening on Thursday 13 August evening was an opportunity for teachers, students, and families to view a dynamic and thoughtful collection of student artworks.

The exhibition remains open until Saturday or can be viewed online.

PPEP Talk – Year 9 & 10 Childcare

Our Year 9 and Year 10 Childcare students recently participated in the PPEP Talk® – Periods, Pain & Endometriosis Program, delivered by the Pelvic Pain Foundation of Australia.

Students gained valuable knowledge about period health, pelvic pain and endometriosis, including how to recognise when pain may not be normal and where to seek appropriate support.

The presentation complemented the reproductive health topics currently being explored within our Childcare program, providing students with an opportunity to further develop their health knowledge, confidence and awareness.

Our students were engaged and respectful throughout the session, asking thoughtful questions and making the most of this valuable learning opportunity.

Once upon a time, a group of "Revolting Children" "put in heaps of effort" to perform one of the "most incredible feats together" in front of people "from miles around" for 3 shows only!

Our princesses, princes, angels and soldiers have been brave and putting in "a great deal of practice and effort". So, "ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls..." please, come and see Roald Dahl's iconic tale reworked into a musical, with music and lyrics written by WA's very own Tim Minchin.

Young Originals Exhibition

Congratulations to one of our talented Year 10 Visual Arts students, whose artwork has been selected for display at the upcoming Young Originals Exhibition at North Metropolitan TAFE.

The exhibition celebrates outstanding artwork created by secondary school students from across Western Australia and provides young artists with the opportunity to showcase their creativity in a professional exhibition setting. We are incredibly proud of this achievement and congratulate our student on this well-deserved recognition. We look forward to seeing their work on display and wish them every success at the exhibition.

Year 11 and 12 General Visual Arts students attended an excursion to TAFE and the Art Gallery of Western Australia.

The excursion provided students with the opportunity to explore pathways into further education and careers in the arts, while engaging with a range of contemporary and historical artworks that supported the current Visual Arts curriculum.

WA Secondary Schools Bush Food Competition

A huge congratulations to our students who represented Rockingham Senior High School at the WA Secondary Schools Bush Food Competition at Bentley TAFE!

After weeks of training, recipe development and refining their skills, our students did an incredible job showcasing native Australian bush food ingredients in their desserts.

A special congratulations to our teams for sacrificing their time and to Hannah and Pearl who placed 2nd in the Dessert Category!

We are incredibly proud of the professionalism, teamwork and resilience they demonstrated throughout the competition. From developing their dishes during our after-school training sessions to stepping into the competition kitchen, they showed just how much their confidence and practical skills have grown.
