📚🎉 Book Week 2026 is almost here! 🎉📚

We can't wait to celebrate Children's Book Week at Rockhampton Special School with this year's theme, ✨ Symphony of Stories ✨.

We warmly invite our families to join us on Thursday 27 August for a morning of reading, imagination and fun!

📖 Shared Reading: Parents and carers are invited into classrooms before the parade to enjoy a story with their child.

🎭 Book Week Parade: Our whole-school parade begins at 9:30 am. Students are encouraged to dress up as their favourite book character and join in the celebrations.

📚 Throughout Book Week: Students are also encouraged to bring along a favourite book from home to share with their classmates.

We look forward to celebrating the joy of reading and sharing stories with our wonderful school community. We hope to see you there! 💙💛

A worthy cause!

Dear families,

On Friday morning (14th August) we will set up a little coffee and tea bar close to the Drop Off Area inside the school.

We will make coffee, tea and hot chocolate for a gold coin donation to raise funds for our school’s 50th Anniversary.

Please feel warmly welcomed to drop in for a cup and a chat in the morning!

Thank you for your support of chaplaincy fundraising events in the past. Your help is what makes these events successful.
This weekend will be a very big one in the chaplaincy fundraising calendar. A separate post will come out regarding another event (Car Parking for Schools State Rowing Titles) which is a 3-day event 19th to 21st September. Your help at either (or both 🙂) would be most welcome.

I got my order in!

Volunteers still needed to help with the car parking for the Rocky Swap coming up this weekend. This has the potential to be a significant fundraiser for our local chaplains, and we get more $$ if we have more volunteers!

Volunteers especially needed to help with the parking in the 6-8 am and 8-10 am time slots.
