Congratulations to Ava, Annabelle, Milly, Ella, Lyla, Ella Shelby, Lilliana and Maycee, who represented Capricornia at the Queensland School Sport Rugby League State Championships (12-14 Years) on the Gold Coast last week!

What an outstanding achievement to compete at a state championship and wear the Capricornia colours. We are incredibly proud of the girls and the way they represented their region throughout the carnival.

A special shout-out to Miss Abbi Johnson and Ms Anna Young for their fantastic work coaching and managing the team.

// STATE SEMI FINAL ACTION //

After an outstanding Dolphins campaign, our Girls Rugby League team has secured their place in the National School Girls Cup State Semi Final tomorrow!

They'll take on Trinity Bay State High School at Aurizon Stadium, with the action kicking off at 11:30am.

The stakes couldn't be higher, with a spot in the State Final and a place among the top four teams in Australia on the line!

Let's fill the stands with plenty of blue and green and show our girls the support they deserve as they chase a spot in the final.

Last week our Year 12 General English students experienced the thrill of a live Shakespeare performance of Othello when Grin and Tonic Theatre troupe visited recently. It was an interactive and gripping production which brought Shakespeare’s most jealous tragedy to life. Bravo Grin and Tonic for this arresting unforgettable performance and applause also for a commanding performance by our stand in volunteer actors pictured below 👏👏👏👏

Thanks to the CQ’s Rock mistress herself, Amanda Hock from Lock&Hock Productions delivering a masterclass on the weekend, the band - packed with talent and the X Factor - is ready to bring the house down and make us proud.

// JAKE HELPS LAUNCH QMEA HUB IN ROCKY //
Queensland Minerals and Energy Academy Student Ambassador and Year 12 student Jake represented TCC with pride and distinction at the launch of the QMEA Hub at CQUniversity. The QMEA Hub is designed to open up the energy and mining industry to regional students creating connections with employment and education pathways.
Alongside Queensland Ministers for Finance, Trade, Employment and Training Ros Bates, Minister for Natural Resources and Mines Dale Last, Queensland Resources Council Chief Executive Officer Janette Hewson, Rockhampton State Member Donna Kirkland and State Member for Keppel Nigel Hutton, Jake was an outstanding representative not only for TCC but for all students in the Rockhampton Region. Whilst at the launch Jake met with current CQUniversity Australia Engineering students as well as the uni's protege Colin from Engineering.
