🌿Our Pre Kindy children have been very excited to welcome our rescued bearded dragon into their room! We currently have a naming competition underway, and we can’t wait to announce his new name soon. The children have loved watching him being fed and have been engaging in wonderful discussions about what foods he likes to eat and why.
Learning Outcome 2 – Children are connected with and contribute to their world, as they develop care and respect for living things.

To celebrate National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children's Day, our centre planted a Bush Tucker Garden! This special project connects children to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures through hands-on learning about native plants traditionally used for food, medicine, and storytelling. By digging, planting, and caring for the garden, children will explore the importance of Country and sustainability, while deepening their respect for the world’s oldest continuous cultures. Our Bush Tucker Garden will grow into a lasting reminder of connection, culture, and community for generations to come.

Tonight we participated in our annual renewal of our CPR and First Aid course. This is a vital requirement of a childcare educator and ensures that we have the skills and knowledge to handle emergencies efficiently keeping our environment safe for all of our children, families, community members and staff.
You may notice we had an extra set of hands tonight, taking a keen interest in the life saving skill of CPR! đźš‘

Today in Kindergarten we did some face painting with our Australian Indigenous colours to represent our ALL-STARS Indigenous squad who are playing against the MÄ€ORI squad Friday 16th February 2024 in Townsville!
Being able to support and learn about our community sports and culture allows children to grow within strong communities, bringing people together from different backgrounds, cultures and beliefs. Engaging within sports allows everyone with different cultural backgrounds to celebrate together, sharing interests and passions. Being able to appreciate and accept culture diversity and communities we share together🇦🇺
We also have a local NRL player from Rockhampton playing tonight in the ALL-STARS Indigenous squad, Bailey Butler! Good luck Bailey 👏🏼 we’re all cheering you on and wishing you the best!
