๐ŸŒฟ Homegrown Nature Play ๐ŸŒฟ

Every fortnight, the children eagerly await the arrival of our friends from Homegrown Nature Play, and itโ€™s easy to see why! ๐Ÿ’š

As you can see from these photos, what may look like a pile of hay, tyres, crates, planks, and recycled materials becomes an incredible landscape of possibility.

The children create their own pathways, test their balance, negotiate with friends, make decisions, and constantly adapt their play as they discover what their bodies and imaginations can do.

This is the magic of nature play: messy, physical, unpredictable, joyful, and incredibly rich in learning ๐ŸŒฟ๐ŸคŽ

๐ŸŸฅ๐ŸŸฆ๐Ÿ’ก Glowing Magnet Blocks ๐Ÿ’ก๐ŸŸฆ๐ŸŸฅ

We experimented with the light table and magnet blocks.

The children were encouraged to build and create with the tiles, as their colours lit up beautifully in the light.

The light table created a new and exciting atmosphere for the Toddlers as the children worked together to build towers, houses, and even shapes!

๐Ÿ›ป๐Ÿงฑ๐ŸคŽ Messy Mud Play ๐ŸคŽ๐Ÿงฑ๐Ÿ›ป

We set up our construction area with cocoa powder, trucks, and blocks.

Our Junior Kindy class absolutely loved the sensory experience, diving right in to make cocoa "mud," stamping handprints on their clothes, and even testing it out with their bare feet!

Pre-Kindy children had a wonderful time using binoculars to discover the outdoor environment!

As they searched for birds and hidden treasures, they built their observation skills, curiosity, and appreciation for the world around them.

Every adventure outdoors is a chance to learn through play.

Through stories, discussions, and interactive activities, the children explored kindness, consent, and how to recognise when someone may need more space.

These are valuable life skills that help children build respectful and positive relationships.

Today, we had the incredible opportunity to welcome Marc from Deadly Australians to our Centre for an unforgettable wildlife experience!

Our children discovered some of Australiaโ€™s amazing native wildlife while learning how to stay safe around the countryโ€™s most deadly creatures.

Through hands-on learning, fascinating stories, and plenty of questions, Marc helped the children understand the importance of respecting and protecting our unique environment.

To top it all off, we were even lucky enough to meet and hold a beautiful blue-tongue lizard before Marc headed off!

Christmas in July? Youโ€™d better believe we understood the assignment! ๐ŸŽ„โœจ

Deck the halls? Quite literally โœ”๏ธ

Today, our Centre came together to celebrate Christmas in July with a delicious feast, plenty of laughter, and great conversations.

It was a wonderful opportunity to reflect on the past six months, the achievements weโ€™ve celebrated, the challenges weโ€™ve overcome, and the passion that continues to bring us together each day.

A huge thank you to our incredible kitchen team, Kerri and Tegan, for serving up a roast that would make Santa consider an early visit! Special thanks also to Tiffany and Shannon for bringing the day together so seamlessly.

Most importantly, thank you to our amazing children and educators, who remind us every single day why we do what we do, one smile at a time ๐Ÿ’š
