"We Are Flowers of One Garden"

Through different cultural picture books, activities and conversations, the children explored countries, cultures, traditions, foods and special animals. They discovered that although we may look different and have different traditions, we are all part of one human family sharing one beautiful world.

As an educator, I wanted to take this learning beyond our daycare and into our community. Being part of Taste of the World gave me the opportunity to share a little of my own Persian culture through Persian tea, while meeting people, sharing stories and building new connections.

It was a beautiful way to put our learning into action and show that celebrating our differences can bring us closer together.

One world. One human family. One beautiful garden.

Little Virtues Family Day Care's children celebrated NAIDOC Week through stories, art, music and hands-on experiences. They explored Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and learned that artwork, symbols and colours can share important stories about people, animals, nature and Country.
Children enjoyed creating dot paintings, exploring Indigenous patterns, tracing journey pathways, Creating a collaborative Australia map with rice collage using the Aboriginal Flag colours, celebrating culture, connection to Country and creativity. Reading the First Nations stories and matching native animals.
Through these experiences, children developed creativity, fine motor skills, early literacy and a deeper respect for Aboriginal culture and connection to Country.
It was beautiful to see children proudly share their artwork, talk about the Aboriginal Flag colours and learn that every culture has valuable stories to tell.

A special farewell to one of our little stars.

After almost four wonderful years with us, it’s time for her next adventure. She has grown into a kind, caring, creative, and confident little girl who loves learning and playing with her friends.

To celebrate her time with us, her friends came up with the beautiful idea of making a special memory picture book filled with drawings and messages about the happy times they spent with her. They also created a friendship handprint artwork for her to keep as a reminder of the friendships and memories they shared together.

We have loved watching her grow and build such meaningful friendships. We wish her all the best as she starts this exciting new chapter. You will be deeply missed and will always remain a special part of our day care family.

I would also like to say a heartfelt thank you to her wonderful parents for their kindness, trust, and ongoing support throughout the years. It has been a pleasure working alongside such a lovely family, and we are grateful for the strong partnership we shared in supporting her learning and growth. We wish your whole family every happiness in the future.

National Sorry Day
Our children explored National Sorry Day through storytelling, art, nature play, and creating a Reconciliation Tree with their handprints and purple hibiscus flowers.
Through these experiences, the children learned about kindness, belonging, respect, and caring for one another. Together, we celebrated the idea that everyone belongs and that our community grows stronger when we listen, care, and walk together.
"Stronger Together" ♥

The children explored the importance of FAMILY and how families love, care, and help one another. Through discussions, art experiences, drawing, songs, and role play, the children shared what makes their families special. They created family trees, drew pictures of their homes and loved ones, and talked about ways families show kindness and care every day.

Children proudly shared their family photos and introduced their family members to each other, confidently talking about the people who are important in their lives.
These learning experiences supported the children’s sense of belonging, communication skills, creativity, and understanding of kindness, respect, and cooperation within families and our community.

For a week, the children enjoyed learning about Mother’s Day through stories, group discussions, art, and craft activities. We talked about mums and all the love, care, and hard work they do for their families every day.

The children shared beautiful thoughts about their mums and spoke about how special they are. They also created lovely cards, drawings her mum, and handmade gifts with so much love, care, and excitement.

It was wonderful to see the children expressing their feelings through art and learning about kindness, gratitude, and appreciation for their families.

Happy Mother’s Day to all our beautiful mums! ♥
We hope you enjoy the special gifts your children made just for you.

“Look at our beautiful little ANZAC garden “

Our children at Little Virtues Day Care painted and created their own poppies, then placed them together to make a field of remembrance.
We shared simple stories about kindness and bravery, helping the children connect in their own meaningful way .
Lest we forget.”

This week, our children enjoyed a beautiful and meaningful Easter celebration filled with fun, creativity, and learning.

They explored Easter in a gentle and age-appropriate way, focusing on kindness, love, and caring for others through the story of Jesus Christ. We also talked about how Easter is not only about chocolate eggs and fun, but it has a special meaning. The Easter Bunny and Easter eggs remind us of new life, new beginnings, and happiness. We shared with the children that Easter is a joyful time that encourages us to be kind, loving, and caring to everyone around us.

Children's days were full of exciting activities! The children enjoyed Easter crafts, decorating eggs, painting, sensory play, and fun games like Easter memory and dice games. They also explored a simple science activity with colourful bubbling eggs, which brought lots of joy and curiosity.

Through these experiences, children developed their creativity, fine motor skills, social skills, and confidence while playing and learning together. It was lovely to see them sharing ideas, taking turns, and enjoying each moment with their friends.

The children’s enthusiasm and joy in every activity made Easter both fun and full of meaningful learning in our day care.

Wishing all our families a happy and joyful Easter!
