This year our Senior Science in Practice students took the lead in hosting Science Week at Kingsley College!

Thanks to a generous ASTA grant, they secured two pairs of models depicting the structure of plant cells and the process of corn seed germination.

Our SIP students visited every primary and junior secondary class, guiding them through hands-on exploration of the new models as they compared similarities, spotted differences, and discovered how each one helps bring these concepts to life.

The fun doesn't stop there! Our practical bean seed germination and colouring competitions are currently underway, with entries closing on Monday, Week 7 (31st August). All the best to our budding scientists!

We are looking to borrow a particular set piece for our upcoming school production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.
If anyone has and would be willing to loan a small chaise or ottoman similar to any of the pictures following it would be greatly appreciated. It is to be used for one small scene. Ideally looking for teal, cream or grey colour but happy to work with any offers…
We need it from 28th/29th August to 5th/6th September. Thank you in advance.

Science came to life at our school! We were lucky to host the Questacon Science Circus, bringing interactive exhibits and spectacular science shows straight to our students.🔬✨

From Prep to Year 6, our kids were buzzing with excitement, exploring hands-on STEM experiences! It was wonderful to see so much curiosity and wonder sparked in just one day.

What happens when you layer liquids and solids of different densities?

Our Year 8 Science students found out for themselves, building density towers to bring the concept of density to life through hands-on experimentation. Great science starts with curiosity! 🧪✨

What an incredible opportunity for our Years 9-12 students today! We welcomed an Olympian and a Paralympian as part of their regional schools tour, sharing what it really takes to become an elite athlete.

With Rockhampton set to host canoeing and kayaking events for the 2032 Olympics, students learned about the huge impact the Games will have on our city, from transport and jobs to food and beyond. Students were also encouraged to think about volunteering opportunities for 2032. Brisbane 2032, here we come! 🔥
