Our Year 10 Agriculture students recently visited BettaPork in Biloela, QLD, as part of their study into the Australian Pork Industry and its vital role in our nation's agricultural sector.

The excursion gave our students a fantastic look at modern pig production, animal welfare standards, biosecurity protocols and sustainable commercial practices in action.

A massive thank you to Laurie Brosnan for opening up BettaPork and hosting our students. We truly appreciate you sharing your time, expertise, and passion for agricultural science with the next generation.

Happy Birthday to our much-loved therapy dog, Sage!

Today we’re celebrating Sage our four-legged friend, gentle soul and very important member of our College community.

Sage brings so much paw-sitivity, joy and calm wherever she goes. Whether she’s offering a comforting cuddle, a wagging tail, a quiet moment of connection or simply brightening someone’s day, Sage has a very special way of making people feel welcome, valued and cared for.

She plays an incredibly important role in our College helping create a sense of belonging, supporting wellbeing, easing stress and bringing smiles to students and staff alike. Her presence reminds us that sometimes the best kind of support comes with four paws, a wet nose and a whole lot of love.

Sage, you are fur-midable, pawsome and truly one of a kind!
Here’s to another year of cuddles, tail wags, treats and making a paws-itive difference every day!

In Mrs Cowie’s and Mr Mulholland’s Year 8 Science classes, students recently took part in an exciting practical investigation exploring how useful materials can be extracted from naturally occurring minerals.

Using sulfuric acid, students carefully reacted malachite (a copper-containing mineral) to produce a copper solution and observe the extraction of copper compounds through a series of chemical reactions. This hands-on experiment allowed students to connect their classroom learning with real-world applications of chemistry, including mining, materials science and industrial processes.

Throughout the practical, students demonstrated excellent teamwork, safe laboratory practices and thoughtful scientific thinking as they made observations, recorded results and discussed the evidence for chemical change.

It was wonderful to see such enthusiasm and curiosity in the laboratory as our students experienced chemistry beyond the textbook! 👏🔍

Graduate of 2022 Nya Hayman recently competed at the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow where she received a Bronze medal in the 69kg weightlifting category with a combined lift of 218kg.

Even though just arriving back into the country, Nya was keen to share her journey and encouraged the students to not give up on their dreams and to persist to see breakthrough.

Fantastic achievement Nya, we are proud of you!

We had such an amazing time at our Primary Bush Dance! It was such a blessing to see our Primary College community come together for a night of boot scooting fun and creating beautiful memories.

The energy and enthusiasm from all the students, parents and staff members made the night truly unforgettable. The smiles on everyone's faces were a testament to the joy and happiness that filled the air.

We enjoyed a wonderful Buddy Assembly where our Year 11 and Prep buddies were officially introduced to the school community. After the assembly, families came together for a lovely morning tea with food, games and activities.

It was a wonderful way to begin a special friendship that will continue over the next year and a half. We are excited to see the connections already forming and look forward to watching these friendships grow.
