OUTDOOR ADVENTURES:
The RGS Duke of Edinburgh Bronze students recently completed their Adventurous Journey in Central Queensland's beautiful Blackdown Tablelands National Park.
The students had an incredible time experiencing the outdoors, with plenty of adventure along the way — bushwalking, swimming in creeks, camping, cooking, enjoying campfires, stargazing, and watching beautiful sunrises.
This fantastic group of students embraced the challenges, supported one another, and made the most of every experience. Thank you students for your engaging participating and thank you to the RGS staff who also supported the journey.

PONYTAIL PROJECT:
RGS Year 12 girls "rocked the chop" at school today joining the 2026 Ponytail Project and raising valuable funds for the Cancer Council.

The characters are coming to life for the RGS Primary Musical production of "Shrek Jnr" - performed at Rockhampton's Pilbeam Theatre on 4-5 September.

SCIENCE WEEK:
National Science Week 2026 was an incredible celebration of science, curiosity and community last week at RGS.
Across the week, students explored seeds and seedlings, crystal growth, chocolate production and much more. The Botany-themed Trivia Night also brought everyone together for an evening of fun, laughter and learning.
It was wonderful seeing so many students enthusiastically embrace each activity and discover the excitement of science beyond the classroom.
Thanks to the RGS Year 9 and Year 11 Science ambassador students and dedicated laboratory technicians, whose enthusiasm, creativity and hard work were instrumental in bringing these experiences to life across the school.
RGS Library staff were also busy supporting National Science Week with Primary students creating seed cards during their library lesson. What an amazing week!

On Wednesday, Year 12 girls will participate in the Cancer Council’s Ponytail Project campaign to raise funds that will support people impacted by cancer.
