Have some sad news everybody, next Friday the 21st of October will be our last day of our home daycare. I would like to thank everybody and all the lovely children/ families we have had the the pleasure of meeting. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time with the kidlets

EXPLORING GOOP! Today since it is starting to warm up outside I thought we might have a messy activity. Today we played with ooeey gooey goop. All it is cornflour, water and food colouring if you want it to be coloured. Add whole box of flour then add water till it is hard to mix but if you touch it the mixture will be soft. Basically with this activity if you move the mixture fast enough it goes like play dough, if you play with it slowly it turns to slime. This was great fun. It may look like a very messy activity but it is so easy to clean up after. This is a great learning experience which I recommend if your looking for some new ideas. :) (you can also incorporate colour recognition and colour mixing like we did)

As Sunday is National Tree Day we thought we would celebrate early. Together we planted a Dwarf Mandarin tree. This was a great experience. The three littlies seemed very proud when they had finished planting. We also did a tree artwork using recycled cardboard rolls to create a stamp for the leaves. A child asked for grass so we worked out if we used a fork to stamp with it looked like grass.

A little bit of spontaneous artwork yesterday. The littlies were given the choice to go through the art cupboard and pick what ever they wanted to use for their group artwork. Which turned out to be nearly the whole cupboard. This artwork will be showcased in our toy room :) so pretty :)

To extend on the school aged children's homework I offered them a counting money experience. Each different type of coin they were about to count they discussed how many of them would add up to $1. One of our littlies even came over and attempted to help count the coins. Great work everyone!

Our littlies seem to be mad on trucks at the moment as we have been seeing a lot on our school runs so I pulled out the trucks from the shed yesterday. These have been of great interest. This morning to extend as well we created a "truck wash". This seemed to be enjoyed by all three children and our trucks are squeaky clean now. :)
