Our Grandfriends came up with the lovely idea of making bookmarks with our Friends and how fitting that their visit today lined up with Book Week! Together, we shared stories, conversations and creativity while making our very own bookmarks to tuck inside our favourite books. What a perfect Book Week visit!

It’s Book Week, so of course we couldn’t resist bringing back our Where’s Wally? fun from last year We donned the famous red and white stripes and hid around the centre. The challenge is on! We’ve made some easy to spot, but there might be a tricky one or two hiding in there… how many Wallys can you find? Let us know if you find them!

Our Kindy Friends put their senses to the test, investigating mystery objects and foods using only their touch, smell and taste! With blind folds on, they described what they could feel, smell and taste before making their guesses. From smooth and rough to sweet and sour, there were plenty of clever descriptions and surprised reactions along the way! A fun way to explore our senses while using and extending descriptive language and vocabulary

Introducing our newest garden crew… They water, they mow, even the carpet, and they take their gardening jobs very seriously.

From juice bars to cupcake shops, our Kindy Friends have been busy bringing their imaginations to life! One day we’re choosing the perfect fruits for our juice, the next we’re taking cupcake orders and counting out the money. With menus to create, orders to take and money to count, there has been plenty happening in our little shops! Our imaginative play gave opportunities to build confidence, develop language, problem solve and negotiate, while naturally weaving in numeracy as they count, match and make choices throughout their play. So much learning happening… without it feeling like learning at all!

Who knew rope could have so many uses? One minute it’s a fishing line. The next it’s towing a truck. Then, before you know it, it’s turned into a game of tug o’ war with the fence! The beauty of loose parts is that there are no rules, just endless opportunities for children to follow their ideas, solve problems and create their own adventures
