Year 10 students recently spent a few days at the Konomie Island Environmental Education Centre (KIEEC) as part of our Extension Science subject. The camp gave students the chance to explore the natural environment, apply scientific skills, and work collaboratively in hands-on fieldwork.

From studying reef fish and plankton to investigating mangroves and freshwater ecosystems, students experienced science in action and gained a deeper understanding of the unique ecosystems and the importance of sustainable technologies and practices around North Keppel Island.

A busy couple of weeks for our touch football referees!

Bryan officiated at the 13โ€“15 Years Queensland School State Championships, before backing it up the following week at the 10โ€“12 Years State Championships in Bundaberg, this time alongside sister Morgan, who was also refereeing at the championships.

The game simply cannot happen without people willing to step up and officiate. We are proud to have two of our own giving their time and contributing to touch football at a state level.

Well done, Bryan and Morgan! โค๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ”ฅ

We are incredibly proud to celebrate Year 11 student Ly on her achievement as the 2026 Central Queensland School-based Apprentice/Trainee of the Year at the Queensland Training Awards Regional Final.

While completing her studies at Emmaus College, Ly is undertaking a School-based Traineeship in Early Childhood Education and Care with Kallahra Childcare, through KKTC Education, and is also studying a Certificate III in Fitness.

Ly's passion for working with children and caring nature have enabled her to build strong connections in the workplace while developing valuable industry skills. Her patience, empathy and determination make her a wonderful role model for other students pursuing vocational pathways.

This well deserved recognition reflects Ly's hard work, dedication and bright future ahead. We congratulate Ly on this outstanding achievement and look forward to seeing all she accomplishes in the years to come.

Well done Ly. We are super proud of you! ๐Ÿ’™ โค
