What a way to finish 2025 🎉

From farewelling our 4YO Kinder children to enjoying our Children’s Christmas Party with a visit from Santa, it’s been a week full of festive fun, gingerbread house making and water fights to beat the heat.

Last week we wrapped up our Christmas Kindness project with excursions to Rochester and Elmore District Health Service Aged Care 🎄

The children enjoyed crafting with the residents, sharing morning tea and singing Christmas carols before gifting them the special creations they had been working so hard on.

Along the way, we had many lovely conversations about how we could “fill the buckets” of the residents for Christmas while making cards, baking shortbread and potting decorated plants.

The other week, both groups consolidated their Safety inquiry by packing their bikes and scooters for an excursion to the Kyabram Community and Learning Centre Traffic School 🚦

After visits from Eyewatch - Campaspe Police Service Area Shane Roberts, the children participated in some reflective discussions about how we can be safer at Kinder. This lead to the introduction of helmets as an option for the children to use on the Kinder trikes to feel safer. Obviously, the helmets were personalised and road tested before being added to our environment 😜

📚 Our Indigenous Literacy Day Book Drive arrived at Sacred Heart School Beagle Bay !📚

During the school holidays, our collection of books made its way to the smiling students of Sacred Heart School in Beagle Bay.

From donating books to painting wrapping paper, folding, sticking, labelling, and posting — our children played an active part in the entire journey. Through this experience, the children discovered the power of stories, connection, and the joy of giving. ❤️

🌟 A Bright New Chapter for Rochester Kindergarten! 🌟

We’re thrilled to announce that the new site for Rochester Kindergarten has been confirmed - with construction expected to be completed in time for the service to open in Term 1, 2027.

The new kindergarten will remain located on the Secondary College site and will continue to be proudly operated by Shine Bright, following our reappointment as provider by the Victorian Government.

After the devastating floods of 2022, our temporary home has been a place of care, resilience and connection. This new, purpose-built kindergarten marks a positive step forward for the whole community - a space for children to grow, learn and play in a setting designed for the future.

🌱 Nominated Supervisor and Education Leader Madelin Craig shared:
“We’re delighted to continue being the kindergarten operator onsite at Rochester Secondary College. It will be wonderful to see the children help set up their new kinder rooms and outdoor play spaces - they’ll have some very creative ideas!”

💛 CEO Richie Evans added:
“Kindergartens and schools are at the heart of every community. We’re so pleased to be starting this bright new chapter with Rochester.”

✨ With the same educators, enrolment processes, and community spirit, Shine Bright’s Rochester Kindergarten will continue to shine as part of our strong Campaspe region network.

🎨 Our 3rd Annual Art Show – What a Night!

Last Friday we celebrated our 3rd Annual Art Show with a fabulous turnout from the local community as well as our Kinder families!

Thank you to everyone who helped make the night a success, including:
• Our dedicated Kinder team
• Our supportive Parents Advisory Group
• Local businesses who generously donated raffle prizes and artwork
• Luke Ryan Real Estate for his impressive and always entertaining auctioneering

We appreciate you all—this event wouldn’t have been possible without your support! 💛

We can’t wait to share the positive impact these fundraisers have for our Kinder.
