Our students from P-6 love to borrow books, magazines and even audiobooks and videos from the library van. This incredible (free) resource supports our students to build and broaden their love of reading. Ms Kerr especially loves it when the students pick her books to read too. Thank you year 3-4 girls for your thoughtfulness and choices… they are pretty interesting and cool… keep them coming!

BOOK WEEK HAS BEGUN!
Today we kicked off Book Week with a whole-school Guess the Book Character game!
Students listened carefully as clues were revealed one at a time, from the trickiest to the most obvious.
They worked together to make their predictions and we were VERY impressed by just how quickly they identified the characters. Clearly we have some serious book experts at Roadvale!

Think you can match them? Here’s one from today:
Clue 1: My knees are knobbly and my toes are turned out.
Clue 2: I have orange eyes and a poisonous wart on the end of my nose.
Clue 3: I have terrible tusks and terrible claws.
Did you get it?

What a fun way to start a week celebrating wonderful books, favourite characters and the joy of reading! We will have more fun throughout the week!

Evie's Australian Cross Country Championships experience in Ballarat! 🇦🇺🏃‍♀️

Evie took on some incredibly challenging conditions, with plenty of mud making the course even tougher. A huge effort and an amazing experience competing at the Australian Athletics Cross Country Championships.

The photos definitely tell the story of the conditions! Mud, determination and plenty of hard work! 💪🏃‍♀️

Today, some our students, led by fearless Chappy Kev, took to building some new soccer goals. Armed with scissors, PVC pipe, bird netting and zip ties, they used their ingenuity and problem solving skills to create this valuable new resource. We are so fortunate to have Chappy Kev with his quiet nature and practical skills showing our students the value of thinking, being thoughtful and that ‘smart’ isn’t just ‘book smart’. You can make things from cardboard boxes or accessorise with items you have at home . Think creative not expensive!
