This week LEAD Childcare Riverview came together to celebrate reconciliation, honoring the journey of understanding,healing,and Unity between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and non-indigenous Australians. The theme this year is "Bridging Now to Next" which invites us to reflect on how we can connect the past and present with a shared vision for the future.
"Bridging Now to Next" is all about taking meaningful action in the present the "now" to bring a stronger, more inclusive future the "next". It's a call to continue learning, listening and walking together recognizing the truth of our history and
working in partnership to shape a better tomorrow.
As part of our celebration, the children gathered and collaborated to create their own "Now" to "Next" artwork. Using coloured stripped paper, natural gum leaves, and tissue paper cut into leaf shapes, they express the theme through creativity and connection. Each piece represented the coming together of different ideas,cultures and hopes, symbolizing growth, unity and the journey forward.
Through art, conversation and community we took big steps and small to bridge the gap between where we are and where we want to be together.
