🎣 Fishing for Numbers 🔢

Our Adventure children enjoyed some sunshine outdoors while combining their gross motor and cognitive skills through a fun number-fishing experience!

Using magnetic tiles, string and pencils, the children created their own fishing rods and carefully fished for different numbers. This engaging experience encouraged coordination, concentration, problem-solving and number recognition—all through hands-on play.

✨ Learning through play, inspired by children and families! ✨

At Learning Blocks Riverstone, our children have been exploring letter tracing in the sand, combining literacy with sensory play. This experience was inspired by the children’s growing interest in recognising letters, while also responding to valuable family feedback about strengthening fine motor skills.

As children traced each letter using their fingers and tools, they developed letter recognition, pencil grip foundations, hand-eye coordination and the small muscle strength needed for future writing. Learning through hands-on, meaningful experiences helps children build confidence while having fun!

Together with our families, we’re creating learning experiences that are responsive to children’s interests and support every step of their development. 💛🌿🔤

At Learning Blocks Riverstone, the children celebrated International Friendship Day by creating a beautiful handprint mural together. Each colourful handprint represented the unique friendships, kindness and sense of belonging shared within our Learning Blocks community.

It’s about preparing the whole child — socially, emotionally, physically and cognitively — so they feel confident and capable as they take their next big step.

From making friends, regulating big emotions and participating in group times, to opening a lunchbox, following instructions, recognising their belongings, asking for help and having a go independently — every little skill builds towards school readiness.

A big thank you to the wonderful police officers from Riverstone Police Station for visiting us this week!

The children learned about personal safety, trusted adults and when to call 000 in an emergency. They even had the exciting opportunity to explore the police van up close! 🚨

It was a fun and valuable experience that helped build the children’s confidence, safety awareness and connection with our local community. 💙

Our Teddy Bear Picnic was filled with smiles, stories, and healthy treats!

The children enjoyed a wonderful excursion to our local street library, where we shared a story together before sitting down for a picnic filled with fresh, delicious fruit. Experiences like these help foster a love of reading, strengthen our connection with the local community, and create meaningful memories alongside our friends.
