KH have been busy learning across the curriculum!

In Science, students explored living things by using different materials to build bird nests and testing whether they could safely hold an egg. 🥚

During Phonics, students revised the digraphs they have learnt so far and practised using them in words.

At C&M Sports, students had lots of fun learning dance moves, playing golf and practising their throwing and catching skills using nets. 🏐🏅

This week, we celebrated Book Week at RPS! 📚

On Tuesday, the Book Parade came alive, followed with colourful costumes, creative flair and lots of smiles!! It was truly wonderful to see students, staff and families celebrating their favourite characters and stories. The rain did not dampen our spirits! No one was going to rain on our teachers’ and students’ parade!

The theme for this year, “Symphony of Stories”, truly came to life! Another special event to add in our memory books for this year ⭐️

🚍 STAGE 2 EXCURSION 🚍

This week, Stage 2 went on an exciting adventure to Hyde Park Barracks!

Over two fantastic days, Stage 2 and our Inclusive students made their way into Sydney City to explore what convict life was like at Hyde Park Barracks.

They extended their experience by visiting the Museum of Sydney to link to their prior learning of the First Fleet.

✏️ WHAT IS HAPPENING IN STAGE 3? ✏️

Here are a few learning snapshots of what is happening in Year 5 and 6! Check out students becoming creative historians this week, designing their own Australian flags as they explore what it means to be a nation.

Also this week, our talented students in Stage 3 have been hard at work preparing their speeches and recently shared with their peers an exciting round of presentations! Their passion, creativity, and confidence shone through as they competed for a spot in the next round of the Hills Public Speaking Competition.

We are so proud of all our young, talented students. Go Stage 3!

🏃‍♂️ ZONE ATHLETICS CARNIVAL 🏃‍♂️

On Friday 14 August, 35 talented students from Riverstone Public School proudly represented our school at the Zone Athletics Carnival at Blacktown Sports Park.

Our students gave every event their very best, showing enthusiasm and outstanding sportsmanship throughout the day.

It was wonderful to see them encouraging one another and representing Riverstone PS with pride.

🎳 TENPIN BOWLING 🎳

This week, our Inclusive Classes were selected to attend a tenpin bowling competition to compete across other Sydney West public schools.

Not only was this event a fantastic opportunity for friendly competition and fun, but it also provided a powerful educational experience. Our students practiced teamwork, developed hand-eye coordination and built confidence in a supportive environment!

A big thank you to all teachers involved who made this memorable day possible! 💙

🎶 WE CAME 1ST!!! 🎶

The RPS 3-6 Choir recently attended the Hawkesbury Eisteddfod where they participated in a singing competition alongside other local schools.

We are incredibly proud to announce that our choir won first place!

The adjudicator was very impressed with our pitch and the choir's ability to convey a story through their singing, commenting, "An enthusiastic performance which engaged the audience."

Ribbons will be handed out at the next 3-6 assembly. Congratulations to the 3-6 Choir for their outstanding achievement and to Mrs Spiteri for leading the group!!
