💛 Celebrating Our Amazing Teacher Assistants! 💛

This week, we’re taking a moment to say a very heartfelt THANK YOU to our wonderful Teacher Assistants, who bring so much care, patience, kindness and dedication to St Anthony’s each and every day. 🌿✨

Our Teacher Assistants are there for the big learning moments, the little wins, the tricky days, the belly laughs, and everything in between. Their support helps our students feel known, valued, encouraged and ready to shine. 🌟

To show just how much they are appreciated, our students have been busy creating beautiful cards, sharing messages of thanks and reminding our TAs of the difference they make in their lives. 💌

To our incredible Teacher Assistants, thank you for the countless ways you support our students, teachers and wider school community. St Anthony’s simply wouldn’t be the same without you.

We hope you know just how appreciated you are, today and every day. 💚💛

🦁💜 Bravehearts Visit | Growing Safe & Confident Kids

Recently, our Kindergarten to Grade 2 students welcomed Bravehearts for an engaging and important personal safety session.

Through fun, age-appropriate activities and conversations, students explored how to recognise safe and unsafe situations, identify the trusted adults in their lives, and understand that it’s always okay to speak up when something doesn’t feel right. 🌟

Our students did a fantastic job listening, joining in and sharing their ideas throughout the sessions. These are such important skills for helping our young people feel safe, confident and empowered. 💜

A big thank you to Bravehearts for visiting us and helping our students learn that their voice matters! 🗣️✨

🖤💛❤️ Indigenous Literacy Day 2026 🖤💛❤️

Today, our school community came together in the hall to celebrate Indigenous Literacy Day, a wonderful opportunity to recognise and celebrate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander stories, languages, cultures and voices.

Together, students enjoyed watching music and dancing videos and joined schools and communities across Australia for the special Indigenous Literacy Day celebration video. We were taken on a journey experiencing stories, songs, language and culture from First Nations children and communities along the way. 🎶📚

📚✨ BOOK WEEK DRESS UP DAY! ✨📚

It’s almost time for one of our favourite days of the year… Book Week Dress Up Day 🦸‍♂️🧚‍♀️🦖🥷🦄

Join us on Monday 24 August as our students bring the pages of their favourite books to life!

📍 Parade in the Courtyard
⏰ Starting at 8:45am

Students are invited to come dressed as, or inspired by, a character from a favourite book. Costumes can be as simple or creative as you like. There’s no need to spend lots of money or have the “perfect” costume. Book Week is all about celebrating stories, imagination, creativity and our love of reading 📖💫

Families are warmly invited to join us for the parade and see our courtyard transform into a wonderful world of characters.

We can’t wait to see who steps out of the storybook on Monday! 🌟📚

💜💛 What makes St Anthony’s special? 💛💜

As part of our celebrations for Catholic Education Week, we decided to ask the people who know St Anthony’s best, our students!

We asked them one simple question: “What makes St Anthony’s special?” 🌟

We know there are so many things that make a school a special place, but there is something particularly wonderful about hearing it through the eyes of our students. 💜

Catholic Education Week gives us an opportunity to celebrate not only our Catholic identity, but the relationships, values, experiences and little everyday moments that make our school feel like home. 🥰✨

So, what makes St Anthony’s special to you?

✨ Catholic Education Week 2026 ✨

This week, the St Anthony's community is proud to celebrate Catholic Education Week, a special time to reflect on the gift of Catholic education and the values that shape our school each day.

This year's theme, inspired by St Clare of Assisi, invites us to be people of faith, hope and light. St Clare's unwavering trust in God, her compassion for others, and her courage to live a life of service continue to inspire us as we grow together in learning and faith.

We look forward to sharing this special week with our school community as we celebrate what makes Catholic education such a meaningful journey.

At the end of last term, we had the privilege of welcoming our wonderful grandparents to St Anthony's for a very special afternoon. 💙

It was so lovely to see so many grandparents spending quality time with their grandchildren, sharing in a range of fun classroom activities before coming together for a beautiful celebration and prayer service in the hall.

Thank you to all of our grandparents who joined us. Your love, encouragement and presence mean so much to our students and our school community. We hope you felt just how much you are appreciated and how much love was shared throughout the afternoon. 💛

Yesterday, St Anthony's came alive with music, movement and plenty of laughter as we welcomed the wonderful Billy Tea Bush Band! 🎻🦘🎶

Throughout the day, students from every year level took part in interactive bush dance workshops led by Mick and Phil. They learned traditional Australian bush dances, explored the rich history of Australian folk music and discovered how music and dance have helped bring communities together for generations. Experiences like these are so valuable, giving students the opportunity to connect with Australia's cultural heritage in a hands-on, engaging and memorable way while building confidence, teamwork and a love of learning.

The celebrations continued into the evening, where students proudly shared what they had learned with their families at our Community Bush Dance. It was fantastic to see our school community come together, with students, parents, and friends all joining in the fun!

A huge thank you to Mick and Phil from the Billy Tea Bush Band for sharing your incredible energy, talent and passion with our students.

Finally, thank you to our amazing Parents and Friends Association for organising this wonderful event. ❤️
