We were lucky enough to have incredible Australian musician (and nan to Shaylen and Lucas!) AO visit us in the MITS classroom today. Shellie was very generous with her time - sharing stories, songs and language with our kids.

Today we celebrated Indigenous Literacy Day. Our students are so rich in language and stories and at MITS we are lucky to be surrounded by many books in first languages and that share stories from home and Country.

This morning Nevaeh and Betty, along with other Year 7's hosted another great assembly. The students shared of their learnings in different subject areas. How they are using more emotive language in their writing, learning about the levels of government and democracy in HASS and creating cookbooks in their passion projects.

National Science Week

It was National Science Week, with this year’s theme “Seeds of Science: Nurturing Knowledge for All.”

Our students had lots of fun racing electric circuit cars, creating Scribble Bots, investigating paper plane forces, and showcasing their creativity through colouring and drawing.

The MITS students have been working with to learn new instruments, body percussion and performing skills. They performed together at the recent Celebration of the Arts night which was a huge success.

Congratulations to all the performers at the MITS "50 Years of Deadly" Celebration of the Arts. There was singing, dancing, many instruments, a fashion show and so much beautiful art. All the students were courageous in sharing their creativity and cheering each other on.
