Here's a water safety tip that takes ten seconds to check, but could matter in an emergency: what colour is your child's swimsuit? π
Bright, contrasting colours like neon orange, yellow, green and pink are far easier to spot in water than navy, black, white or pale blue, which tend to blend into the water, shadows or glare. It's a small detail, but for parents and lifeguards, being able to spot a child quickly can buy precious extra seconds if something goes wrong.
At Sherriffs Road Swimming Centre in Reynella, water safety isn't something we only think about during lessons, it's part of every conversation we have with families. A high visibility swimsuit won't replace active supervision or swimming skills, but it's a simple, low-cost upgrade that adds one more layer of safety to your next pool day. π¦
