⛺Year 8 Outdoor Education Camp⛺

What an incredible few days it was for our Year 8 cohort! Both classes came together for a 3-day 2-night adventure at Canoe the Riverland in Murtho. Students dove into kayaking, canoeing, orienteering, water bug surveying, raft building and even a night walk under the stars.

With glorious weather ☀ the entire time, students made the most of every moment on the water and out in the bush. Away from phones and screens, the whole cohort had the chance to properly connect through shared meals, campfire chats and plenty of laughs along the way.

It was fantastic to see the group bond so well as a whole year level while building teamwork, communication and resilience. A huge well done to our Year 8 students and a big thank you to our staff and the Canoe the Riverland team for such a memorable experience!

🔬 Science Week 2026 at SFoAC 🌱

Science Week was a fantastic celebration of curiosity, creativity and discovery across the College!

A highlight of the week saw our Year 8 Science students step into the role of teachers, hosting a series of hands-on science demonstrations for visiting Year 3 students from St. Joseph's School Renmark. From flying teabags and rainbow bubbles to homemade ice cream and milk art, the activities sparked plenty of wonder, excitement, and questions.

Students and staff also got involved in daily science quizzes and lunchtime challenges, making it a week filled with learning, laughter and exploration.

A huge congratulations to our Year 8 students for the enthusiasm, leadership, and confidence they showed while sharing their love of science with younger learners. 👏🔬✨

Year 12 SRM Students Making a Difference 💙

Our Year 12 SRM (Spiritualities, Religion and Meaning) students have been putting their learning into action, identifying community needs and creating projects that make a real difference. From care packs for aged care residents and people experiencing homelessness, to supporting our Breakfast Club, welcoming new Year 7 students, promoting wellbeing and resilience, and raising awareness for important causes, these initiatives have demonstrated compassion, leadership, and social responsibility.

We are incredibly proud of the positive impact our students are making within our College and the wider community.

📚Book Week 2026 - Symphony of Stories

As part of this year’s Book Week celebrations, our Year 10 students travelled to St. Joseph's School Renmark yesterday to share the joy of reading with Reception students through a range of book-based activities and learning experiences.

The visit provided a wonderful opportunity for students to connect together, with stories sparking conversations, creativity and plenty of smiles. From reading together to participating in engaging activities, both the "big" and "little" students embraced the experience with enthusiasm.

Beyond celebrating a love of literature, the visit helped foster positive, faith-filled relationships and strengthen the connections between our school communities.

A beautiful reminder that stories have the power to bring people together. 💙📖

"Stories that shape us"

The Assisi Way is a new fortnightly video series created to celebrate the people, moments and stories that bring our College community to life. Each episode will highlight student voice and experience, sharing real stories from across the College that reflect who we are, what we value, and the many ways our students contribute to the life of St Francis of Assisi College.

In our first episode, we reflect on the Chop 4 Change event that took place in Week 3, organised by our College Captain, Riley Broad. This student-led initiative is a powerful example of our young people using their voice and leadership to make a positive difference and be leaders for the world God desires.
