What a great way to make the most of being stuck inside on a rainy day!

Our friends requested the obstacle course to burn off lots of energy. Then, turning it into a fort to enhance their adventurous play.

This was great for to practice and improve their motor and coordination skills. While, fostering imagination and enthusiasm ๐Ÿ’–

During our rest period, our older friends have been enjoying new activities like these felt story boards.

Fostering curiosity and creativity while others have a much needed nap. Even though our older friends don't nap, this quiet time provides a great opportunity for them to relax and reset before an afternoon full of fun and learning. Ensuring I am practicing a responsiveness to Children in my daily practice.

By providing a time and space for children to recharge each day, I am working towards learning out come 3.1 Children become strong in their social and emotional wellbeing. This is also supporting child working towards learning outcome 3.2 Children take increasing responsibility for their own health and physical wellbeing.

We continued our exploration into Science Week with an exciting rain clouds experiment.

This group of friends watched as I added shaving foam and blue food dye to a jar of water. They showed great enthusiasm and engagement as they waited to see what would happen.

Talking amongst each other, sharing what they could see and contributing their own ideas to the experience.

Here are some lovely child lead learning moments from the week ๐Ÿซถ

This week our friends showed a lot of interest in construction and building. Working together to build different creations using a variety of resources.

There has been a continuous interest in imaginative play with lots of role playing in the home corner and playing with figurines

Some children showed further interest in exploring literacy following our intentional teaching moments by exploring our spelling activity.

This group of friends showed they were confident and engaged learners when exploring and experimenting with vinegar and bi-carb soda.

First they took turns hypothesising what they believed would happen. Then, watch as they each took turns mixing the components together and disgusted the chemical reaction.

Linked to learning outcome 4:2 Children build thinking skills such as problem-solving, inquiry, experimentation, hypothesizing, and investigating.
