Applications of classroom learning don't get much more exciting than this!

Through TAFE Queensland's Academy of Sport partnership with the Gold Coast Titans, students have the opportunity to study a nationally recognised Diploma of Sport / Diploma of Leadership and Management (SIS50321 / BSB50420) while learning within a professional sporting environment.

Commencing in January 2027, the Titans Institute dual diploma program combines face-to-face education with authentic industry experiences, including:

🏉 Learning alongside one of the NRL's leading sporting organisations
🎓 Two nationally recognised diploma qualifications in just 40 weeks
🎤 Guest presentations from Gold Coast Titans staff and industry professionals
🤝 Opportunities for up to 100 hours of work experience with the Club
💼 Practical learning in sport, leadership, coaching and business management

Designed for students looking to establish a career in sport, the program provides an opportunity to develop valuable qualifications and industry connections while gaining an insight into the operations of a professional sporting club.

Mikosei builds a new career in IT 🖥

After working in creative freelance roles, Mikosei decided to challenge herself by entering a more technical, problem‑solving field.

“I wanted to test myself in a completely different environment,” Mikosei said.

She completed a Certificate III in Information Technology (ICT30120), before continuing her studies with a Diploma of Information Technology (ICT50220), building industry‑relevant skills and confidence along the way.

After starting her own training journey at TAFE Queensland and building a successful career as a chef, pastry chef and business owner, Sarah is now helping the next generation of bakers develop their skills and confidence.

"My career path was because of TAFE. And if I can just do a little bit for my students, the way that the educators did for me when I was at TAFE, then that's more than enough, I think."

TAFE Queensland has been part of Clinton's career journey from apprentice to refrigeration mechanic and licensed electrician. Now, he's returned once again to build new skills in the growing renewable energy sector. 🔋

Clinton recently completed a Grid-Connected Battery Storage Systems Designer-Installer Skill Set (UEESS00191), fully funded through the TAFE Centre of Excellence Clean Energy Batteries.
