Junior and senior kindy

Today the children did Self portraits drawing. And we also were learning our 3D and 2D shapes and counted 1-100 in 2s 5s 10s today. Doing a drawing of self portrait are a great way to support children's self-concept and identity, as well as creativity and fine motor skills. In this learning activity, children will be encouraged to identify their own facial features in their reflection, intrepret their positioning and replicate on paper.

Today the children were learning about shapes Kolio was asked were the star ⭐️ was he pointed it straight away next was Adout turn to show were the cone was everyone had a go at pointing to the different shapes on the chalkboard. Angad said that the table is a rectangle.  Learning shapes not only helps children identify and organize visual information, it helps them learn skills in other curriculum areas including reading, math, and science. For example, an early step in understanding numbers and letters is to recognize their shape

Senior and junior kindy room today

Children had oodles of fun making super fun watermelon 🍉 craft using paper plate. We started by cutting the plate in two. Then we cut some red and green coloured paper into pieces which was actually easy for them but picking a tiny piece and placing them on watermelon 🍉 craft was bit challenging for some of the children. Still our children were thrilled to finish their project with passion and proudly showed their creativity to Ms Pinky and Ms zamda

Making a collage helps children build fine motor skills. It's also a fun way to develop children's awareness of colour and texture and if it comes to letter collage it is more fun and children improve their literacy and language skills. Today children decided to work on letter B.
Children enjoyed Hokey Pokey singing and dancing which doesn't just teach children their right from their left, it also helps to solidify the concept of in and out

SENIOR AND JUNIOR KINDY ROOM TODAY

Children had oodles of fun with a super fun playdough activity which is simple animal figurines with playdough to help children explore tracks and footprints. Children were thrilled to identify the track of the particular animal, tracking in a playdough can be easy, but it can also be deceptively tricky since tracks are hidden at the bottom of deep leg holes in the deep playdough.
Father's Day is almost there and our children are so busy doing some amazing work for their dad to surprise them with their creativity.

BOOK WEEK

Book week would have to be one of our favourite events of the year at Thrish Montessori child care. Not only because we love reading, but the week allows educators and children to embrace their creative side and let their imagination run wild. Today children were dressed up in their favourite character and excited to talk about the character they were wearing. They also had oodles of fun in acting like it. They know exactly what they are wearing and why it is their favourite character.

Setting up activities using recycled materials is made a bit easier when we have already set articles in preparation for future activity. Our collage trolley has some pieces of recycled paper and also some pieces of straws which children found interesting to glue and make their own imagination
Cosmic yoga is mixing pot of stories, movements and learning. Children loved showing their super excitement in cosmic yoga which also helps to grow strength, build balance, coordination, confidence and so much more.

SENIOR AND JUNIOR KINDY ROOM TODAY

Our children love doing artwork this usually keeps them busy for a while .Today Ms Pinky clips one cotton ball on each clothespin, dip it in the paint 🎨. It's also great for mixing paint 🎨🖌️ together and we talked about the new colours we can make. Children had fun stamping movements and also use strokes, like a paintbrush 🖌️ Children are exercising their fingers and getting awesome fine motor practice.
Children had strengthened their fine motor skills using tracing activity worksheets. The guided lines help them to practice the movements used to write letters, numbers and shapes. Tracing can help practice their pencil✏️ grip as well as begin to Start writing letters and building their confidence.
