Red Cliffs East PS Centenary Celebration

We are holding a 2025 Prep information session on 14th May from 5 to 6pm. Please share this information with anyone sending there child to school (Prep) in 2025.

Any East families involved in the scouts over their 100years? Help them celebrate their centenary this Saturday.

100 years ago today - the first Red Cliffs scout group is taking shape.

The Sunraysia Daily reported:

"A Boy Scout troop has been in process of formation during the last month at Red Cliffs. The Rev. L. Cula, of the Red Cliffs Church of England, has done the incidental organising work, and about twenty boys have been enrolled. The official investiture of the troop will take place at the Red Cliffs vicarage next Tuesday evening [April 8]."

The investiture did not end up happening on the Tuesday evening mentioned. The boys would have to wait a little longer.

Who was your school Principal at East?

Here is one of our wonderful photos which I have just been reminded, advertises Red Cliffs East! We could have used this earlier to announce the coming celebration. It is George Rodier, the Town Crier and Bell-Ringer announcing a School Fete at East. It would be in the 20's or early 30's we guess.

Do you have a student profile or family timeline you could send us? We'll print it with our Header and have it displayed at our celebrations on Friday, and then you can keep it.

Our Centenary celebration is only a few days away - Friday 8th March!! It would be wonderful to see as many of our current school community coming through the classrooms during the day
(11.30am to 3.15pm). If you can't make those times the classrooms will be open during our evening session (6 to 8.30pm).
We will have a special assembly from 2.45pm to present our School Leaders and Junior School Councillors with their leadership badges, and also present out Play Leaders to the community.
Parents are encouraged to attend.
During our night session we will have food for sale. It will be catered for by outside caterers.
Paella/pasta dishes - $15 (EFTPOS or Cash)
BBQ - Sausage in bread $3 or Hamburger (with or without onions) - $4.50 (cash only)
Coffee van selling drinks (both hot and cold drinks) (EFTPOS and cash)
We will have our formal speeches etc at 7pm. These will include cutting the cake, School Leaders speech and the official opening of our centenary garden.
Friday is such a huge day for our past and present school community. We hope to see you all there.
