And that's a wrap.

Ending our NAIDOC Celebrations with our Ngarralbaa Jnr AECG Touch Football Competition.

With over 93 students, 8 teams and volunteers, participating in the whole day event.

🌟 GRANDFINAL WINNERS: 🏉 BLM 🏆

✨️RUNNERS UP: GAB🥈

BLM =2 VS GAB=0

An exciting game to the end.

Thank you to all our students who participated in the day, displaying great sportsmanship all round. We really enjoyed watching some deadly footwork out on the field and look forward to seeing who will bring it next year. 👏

And 'YES' the teachers did come away with a win this year in the Teachers v Students game(3-1)☝️ sorry kids that makes us Teachers 4 years Winners - and Students 3 years up. 😁

Thank you to Mr Tonks who cooked up a deadly sausage sizzle for everyone, you always bring the goods.👍

And a massive shout out to Sheridan Noble (IHS ACLO), Kiah Cooper (ASLSO) and the Jnr AECG - for all their hard work for the day.

NAIDOC Week 2022

Get Up! Stand Up! Show Up!

NAIDOC Week celebrates the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

The Irrawang High School Ngarralbaa Education Team, have been working hard to ensure that this week’s NAIDOC celebrations will be a huge success.

A whole school assembly will be held tomorrow morning (Monday) followed by a morning tea for special guests.

On Tuesday morning before school, staff are invited to participate in a Clontarf training session and rewarded with a BBQ breakfast….these young Clontarf men along with Poss, Thanz and Dan are very fit!

Wednesday is a whole school cultural day with activities such as art/boomerangs, weaving/beading, traditional games, Aboriginal Dancing, bush resources, damper making, Johnny Cakes and a bush tucker tasting BBQ.

The Junior AECG will hold the traditional NAIDOC touch footy comp on Friday, with a BBQ held at the end of the day.

Stay tuned for updates throughout the week…
