🌟 More than just a number… but pretty proud of these numbers! 🌟

At Rathmines Public School, we’ve always believed that our kids are so much more than a test result. ❤️

We prioritise inclusivity, wellbeing and positive relationships while constantly thinking outside the box to give every student opportunities to learn, grow, discover their strengths and be the very best version of themselves. ✨

But… when our students absolutely smash NAPLAN, we think we’re allowed to celebrate that too! 🎉📚
We are incredibly proud to share some of our NAPLAN results, which reflect the hard work, persistence and growth of our students, as well as the dedication of our amazing staff and the support of our school community. 👏💙

So yes, we’ll celebrate the data… 📊
But we’ll keep celebrating the whole child even more. ❤️

Because at RPS, success isn’t just about getting the right answer on a test. It’s about being curious, kind, confident, resilient, inclusive and willing to have a go.

And if they can do all of that and smash NAPLAN along the way… well, that’s worth a little happy dance! 💃🕺🎉

🎶 BOOK WEEK 2026 — DAY 4: SOMETHING SPECIAL PERFORMANCE! 🎶

What a way to continue our A Symphony of Stories celebrations!

Today we were lucky enough to be visited by Perform Education, who thoroughly entertained our students with a fantastic performance celebrating this year’s CBCA shortlisted books. 📖✨

With singing, dancing, plenty of fun and lots of bookish energy, our students were captivated from beginning to end! 🎤💃🕺

It was wonderful to see familiar stories and characters brought to life in such a fun and engaging way — A huge thank you to Perform Education for helping make Day 4 of Book Week extra special!

📚✨ BOOK WEEK 2026 — DAY 3: BOOK CHARACTER PARADE! ✨📚

A little rain was not going to stop our favourite event of the year! 🥰📖

There is something so special about Book Character Parade day. The amazing book characters, the creative costumes, the homemade brilliance, the tiny details — and, of course, the confidence that shines through in kids who are usually a little bit shy. ❤️

Watching our students proudly parade as their favourite characters is one of those moments that reminds us exactly why we celebrate books. Stories give children a chance to be brave, be creative, be silly and be whoever they want to be. 🌟

Thank you to all our families and friends for supporting our Library Legends as they ran today’s parade. We hope you enjoyed it as much as we did!

BOOK WEEK 2026 — DAY 2: THE EMPEROR’S EGG!

Day 2 of A Symphony of Stories brought some seriously creative egg-cellent fun! 📚🎶

Inspired by the wonderful book The Emperor’s Egg by Rae Tan, our students were challenged to create their very own Emperor’s Egg — and WOW, did they rise to the occasion!✨

From clever designs to imaginative creations, we’ve been blown away by the creativity, effort and love for the story that went into every single entry. ❤️

Now comes the tricky part… choosing a winner! 😬

With so many fabulous entries, it’s going to be a very difficult decision! 🥚🏆

📚✨ BOOK WEEK 2026 — DAY 1: BOOK FAIR! ✨📚

And what better way to kick off Book Week 2026: A Symphony of Stories than with a Book Fair! 🎶📖

Today our students browsed, explored, discovered new favourites and, most importantly, created their Book Fair wish lists! 📝💕

They also spent plenty of time practising their sweetest “pleeeeease” faces for their families… because apparently choosing just one book is far too difficult! 😂📚

There were big smiles, big dreams and lots of book love — the perfect start to a week celebrating everything we love about stories and reading. ❤️

⭐️Stage 3 Camp, Day 3!⭐️
Our third day of camp was spent mostly travelling home and included lots of cat naps and some questionable karaoke on the bus.

Our lunchtime stop at Scenic World at the Blue Mountains was definitely a memorable one! We rode the very steep scenic railway down into the gully and enjoyed a leisurely hang in the cablecar back to the top. The views were incredible, but slightly drowned out by the loud pitched screams!

🔥 STAGE 3 CAMP — DAY 2! 🔥

Day 2 was jam-packed with history, hands-on adventures, tug-of-war battles and just a little bit of hard labour! 😂💪

Our campers stepped back in time at the Gold Historical Village, exploring steam engines, stampers and the blacksmith, before getting stuck into damper making, tent pitching and mud brick making. 🏕️🧱

We also visited the Goldfields Museum and learnt about Aboriginal history and culture, admired Aboriginal art and even had a go at boomerang throwing! 🪃

Of course, no camp day is complete without a campfire, marshmallows and our famous Talent Quest! 🔥🍡🎤

The excitement and enthusiasm from our campers all day was truly admirable! From getting their hands dirty to trying new things, asking questions and cheering each other on, they threw themselves into every activity with huge smiles and bucketloads of resilience! 🤩🙌
