Congratulations to my HSC students from 2023 !! Rama ( Sydney Girls ) received 97 percent for advanced English!! The list goes on and on ! I am particularly proud of Abhi ( Cherry Brook high ) only in the country for 3 years - and received 88 percent for Advanced English . English was his weakest subject but he ended with his top grade ( apart from maths ) . Please refer to my website for more results . Well done my very clever students!

Congratulations to my student Harry ( International Grammar ) . He’s just been accelerated from year 10 to year 12 advanced English. Such an achievement , considering English was his weakest subject .

It’s such a cliche but teaching must be one of the most rewarding professions on the planet .
I had some brilliant students, nonetheless, with a strong maths / science orientation. Slowly but surely, they were converted into a love of language and literature . The results are self evident. Quite a number of band 6 students, all of whom struggled in English!!
But the real congratulations are in order for Nicholas - who exceeded even my expectations. ( and I always expect and believe my students are capable of anything) Nicholas was a strong contender for Standard . ( I’m ashamed to say - I really couldn’t imagine how he would perform in Advanced English )- finally he received one mark off from a band 6 !! The best part of all these results, across the board, is that all the work prepared and written up in the HSC was authentically and critically prepared by my students ( not by me ) . In today current political and social landscape these students will have the gift of navigating the trickery and beauty of language .

Why any Jewish family would opt for such a misogynistic and elitist culture such as Knox Grammar is beyond my comprehension . Send your children where they are safe and respected - or at least to an egalitarian school that encourages tolerance of religious differences.

I wanted to share these HSC trial results of my students and their respective schools because not only are they incredible but barring one student they are all maths and science in orientation. Given the circumstances of lock down I’m simply over the moon. Sharang - James ruse 20/20 in both sections of the trial .
