Students often ask me how they can prepare for upcoming trials at home or during study.
I always mention the following:
Underline or highlight the key aspects of the question to ensure you stay on topic in your response.
Time yourself when answering past papers or sample papers.
Don't exceed 40 minutes writing time per question.
Try and relax.

When constructing a Creative Writing response in Paper I, Section II, ensure you include the following aspects in your work:
The act of discovery
The nature of the discovery itself
How an individual responds initially
The broader ramifications for the individual and / or society
If these are not evident in your response, it will hinder you in achieving a top band in this section.

An insight into breaking down the Discovery rubric - feel free to Like and Share
Speaking to students at times highlights how HSC rubrics are perceived as being black or white. Yet they are anything but that.
For example, the Discovery rubric is open to interpretation and by deconstructing the rubric with my clients, I can offer HSC students guidance and new understandings of the infinite possibilities the rubric provides. This new understanding can then be applied to their own prescribed and related texts as well as benefitting their creative writing.
