Happy Book Week!!! ✨ It was by far our biggest one yet, with students in the younger grades enjoying an exciting Book Parade in the hall, and the older students celebrating with their peers. Hopefully next year, we can have the school-wide parade with some more sunshine coming our way! ☀️ Everyone looked fantastic in their costumes; thank you to all those in the community who got involved, and to Mrs Cullinan for running fun events in and around the library this week. 📖

🌟 Zone Athletics! 🌟
On Wednesday, we took a strong team of over 60 athletes to the Zone Athletics carnival! We did an incredible job representing our school and students should be very proud of the way they conducted themselves. This is but a small snapshot of some of our outstanding athletics team. Shout out to Ms Manning, Mrs Raad and Hugh for looking after the team or running events! Well done to all students! 💪🏼

Chookas! 🌟

WOW! Congratulations to our entire Wakakirri cast and crew for their outstanding performance last Thursday night at NIDA. 🩵 You have made the entire school community beyond proud, and were so deserving of winning the Spirit of Wakakirri Award! In addition to this, we were also awarded with:
🏆 Ensemble Award for Overall Performance
🏆 Stage Managers award for Backstage Crew
🏆 Ensemble Award for Group Dance
🏆 Ensemble Award for Dancing and Acting
🏆 Lead cast award for Performance in Dance

Regardless of the final results (to be announced in a couple of weeks), this in itself is a HUGE achievement, and every single one of you should be so proud of yourselves! 🫶🏼

A production as big as this does not happen overnight; it takes a village, and the vibes at NIDA last week were evident of that. Thank you to our incredible parent community for assisting in sewing costumes and painting sets, and for always supporting your kids. Thank you to the students for committing to rehearsals and bringing such a great energy every time. And thank you to the teachers who have poured their heart and soul into investing in this — we are so lucky at RPS to have such amazing opportunities, and to have teachers to guide us along the way, ensuring that we thrive the way we do.
Shout out to: Ms Baker, Ms Dobozy, Ms Coote, Ms Steel, Ms Krochmal, Ms Elliott, Ms Forsyth, Ms Fukui, and Ellie, our incredible SLSO, for all that you’ve done for the students and school. 🩷 Well done, everyone!

Today is Principal’s Day — a day to celebrate the hard work and dedication that goes towards ensuring our school runs as well as it does. Mrs Raad has not only helped RPS grow and flourish as a whole, but has led us all with patience and care. 🌸 We are so grateful to be working alongside her as she continues to make Randwick a better place. Here is a poem by some Year 5 students to show our appreciation. Thank you for all you do, Mrs Raad!

On Tuesday, 4th August, we had a blast at our annual Athletics Carnival! 🌟 Amidst the last-minute changes, both the Primary and Infants’ carnivals went off without a hitch! 🏃🏽 Massive thank you to Miss Manning and the team of execs and admin staff who were able to organise such a seamless carnival for the older students, and to Mrs King for organising a fun-filled day for K-2. ☀️ The sportsmanship and overall positive behaviour that the students exhibited was a true reflection of , and it was wonderful to see so many students participate in all the events! Thank you also to all the parent volunteers who helped out on the day; we cannot run these special days without you, so a big thank you for giving up your time to support the students and the school! 🏃🏾‍♀️‍➡️

What a FEAST! 🥪 Last term, Year 5 learnt all about food waste, sustainability, and some cooking skills through the OzHarvest program. 🥕Today, we put those skills to the test with the ultimate challenge: preparing a Long Lunch for ALL of Year 5 and some special guests! We enjoyed some yummy sandwiches, guac and chips, tzatziki and veggie sticks, and fruit kebabs. Well done to all students for working extremely well together and creating some delicious dishes, and thank you to the special guests who were able to attend today. 🌟

**PJ Day = Best Day!**

Our students wrapped up the term in the comfiest way possible with **PJ Day**, a fun initiative organised by our amazing SRC!

From cosy pyjamas to colourful onesies and fluffy dressing gowns, the school was filled with smiles, laughter and plenty of comfy vibes.

Not pictured... our teachers, who may have enjoyed the warmth and comfort of their PJs just as much as the students! 🤭💙

🧁✨ Year 5 Cupcake Day ✨🧁

Cupcake Day was a sweet success! Our Year 5 students served up a delicious range of creatively decorated cupcakes that were eagerly snapped up by students across the school.

A huge thank you to our Year 5 students and their parents and carers for the time, effort and creativity that went into baking and decorating these amazing treats. It is always a much-loved annual event and this year was no exception!
Best of all, the fundraiser will help support our Year 6 farewell celebrations.

Thank you to everyone who purchased a cupcake and helped make the day such a success. 💖🧁

🐝📚 **Spelling Bee Finals** 📚🐝

Today our Stage 2 and Stage 3 finalists put their spelling skills to the test in a closely contested Spelling Bee. The competition was fierce, with students demonstrating impressive vocabulary, concentration and perseverance as they tackled some challenging words.

Congratulations to all of our finalists on their outstanding efforts.
