Such incredible news! As a survivor of this horrendous practice in NSW it makes me so so happy to know future generations will have some protection against it. Thank you to all who made this happen.
LGBTQA+ Conversion practices are officially banned in NSW!
Decades of activism and advocacy, particularly by survivors, has led to this historic day.
This bill will save countless lives and ensure generations of our community never know the pain these practices cause.
But this wouldn’t have been possible without the countless individuals and organisations who campaigned across the years to make it happen.
Together we’ve made history in NSW. We can do the same for all of Australia.

So powerful. As a survivor, it took me a few tries to watch the whole thing, as it brought up deep trauma, but so glad that this truth is coming to light.

It meant a lot to be sworn in to service to Queen Elizabeth II. It is with sadness that I heard of her passing today. She was a steady force of strength and grace for the Commonwealth. May her influence continue over into her Son’s reign. Long Live the King.
