This Christmas was the best I’ve had in a very very long time!! Sooooooo happy!!

Each day this month there’s a box to be opened containing a paper with something to do,open or eat.

So far, we’ve had family photos, 2 gifts opened (swipe to see today’s gift), activity to create our friends some treats and date days.

This is the first year we’re doing this but it’s so successful I can guarantee it’ll continue each year!

I may even need to get one of these for normal life because it’s just so fun!

Today I’ve given him some family names for him to practice so he can write their Christmas gift cards.

I’ve given him the first notes page of goal 5 so I can have a quick visual summary of where he’s up to. Some could call it a test, but I much prefer the relaxed approach.

In a few weeks, once we’ve been working on this goal consistently and with purpose, I’ll get him to write these names without using a visual reference.

This goal will be achieved when he can write simple sentences, without cues AND when he uses correct sizing and letter formation.

Today was an inspiring morning as Jax and I finalised his 12 goals! 🌟

We've meticulously crafted these goals, and now I'm diving into the intricate details of each. But I've decided to type them out and then print them on beautiful paper! 📝

Some are set for 3 months, while others are year-long ambitions.

🌅 Embracing the Return to Morning Basket!📚
✨ I’ve decided it’s time to venture back into the world of morning baskets.

I’ve been amazed by the engagement and focus I’ve been able to bring to our day, after only two days of following ideas and creating my own.

For those who may not know, a morning basket involves selecting 1 or 2 activities that can either set the tone for the day’s learning or be activities to stimulate the brain.

☕️ Lately, our mornings have centered around brain-boosting Lion’s Mane mushroom drinks, a small ritual for enhanced mental clarity and focus.

Yesterday I asked Jax, while we were in the shops if he’d like to do a word search with me in the morning during our coffee/chino time. I didn’t know if he’d be into it but it was an absolute hit. He even brought it out last night before bed!

Watching the intense focus and determination while hunting for words is a sight to behold.

Selecting this activity was not random; it is tied to specific learning goal. The word search isn’t just a fun game; it’s a deliberate tool to build concentration, enhance letter recognition, and nurture the ability to stay committed to a task. It’s all about setting the stage for learning success!

I haven’t formalised any goals yet and I still need to get my planner printed, but I’m focused on the first stage of goal planning which is getting to know where he’s at and which goals are most important!
