Over the last month the preschool children at Thrive Pyrmont have been exploring space and planets.

Extending on the children’s interest we decided to visit the powerhouse museum where the children created moons, had the opportunity to look at a spaceship and try on space suits.

The children have learnt so much during this time, they are able to tell you all about planets such as the shape, size, colour and temperatures.

Today the children at Thrive Pyrmont held a boat festival. First they made dragon paper boats then we raced them in water.

The Duanwu Festival, also often known as the Dragon Boat Festival, is a traditional holiday originating in China.

Today we celebrated mother's day at Thrive Pyrmont.

We had a makeup and massage station, nail and hair station, buiscuit decorating, necklace making and portrait drawings.

It was great to see our children and their families get so involved in the experiences.

Happy Mother's Day to all our wonderful mum's!

We hope you enjoyed yourselves.

Tonight our educators at Pyrmont had a team building session.

We split into teams and our educators worked together using an assortment of paper, scissors, glue and tape to make a protection barrier for an egg.

Our educators worked hard communicating with one another to form the barrier with only 5 minutes to discuss and build.

Once the timer was up we held the eggs above our head and dropped them to the ground hoping the eggs would survive the fall.

Well done team Pyrmont! You truly are an amazing team with so much dedication and passion for what you do each and every day.

Last week the children at Thrive Pyrmont made poppies in celebration for ANZAC day.

Today the children went to St Helens Community Centre in Glebe and handed them out to the elderly ladies who were playing bingo.

The children were very excited to catch the lightrail across to Glebe and walk over to the community centre. They were holding hands with a friend, listening carefully to their educators and looking for cars and oncoming traffic. It was a great opportunity to discuss the importance of road safety.

When we arrived first we explored the community garden and seen all the fresh fruit, veggies and plants growing in the garden.

The children had conversations with the ladies and handed each of them a poppy before leaving.

Thrive Pyrmont would like to thank Louise and St Helens Community Centre for having us today.

Today the dolphins room at Thrive Pyrmont went to the ANZAC bridge and honoured the diggers.

When we arrived at the bridge we read the meaning of ANZAC then we continued to walk to find the soldiers.

One of our children suggested doing one minute of silence in honour of the people who fought for our county.

We hope all our families and friends have a wonderful and safe day tomorrow.

LEST WE FORGET.
