English Corner CrossCulture Practise your English with people from all over the world at English Corner! Every Thursday: 6:30PM There will be a facilitator in each group to help you.

We invite you to come and practise your English with people from all over the world in a friendly environment. Be part of a group of up to 80 participants from all over the world! We have English classes every Thursday evening and Saturday morning. Your only cost is a one time annual $2 registration fee that you pay when you register. English Corner is open to all levels from beginner to advanced.

We have classes in small groups and you will be placed in one of these groups according to your proficiency in English. We are open to all adults and young people who are 18 years of age and above. Our apologies to those who are younger but we cannot accept those under 18 years old. Our location is centrally located in Melbourne. We are very close to Melbourne Central train station and the main tram stop on Swanston Street across from State Library. The Thursday evening class is held from 6:00pm to 8:30pm in Chapel Hall. The Saturday class is from 10:30 am to 12 noon in Price Hall. To find us, go to the corner of Little Lonsdale Street and Swanston Street. Turn right at the corner of the church and walk towards a sign with the numbers '194' on it. However, you don't need to walk all the way to the sign. As soon as you get to the end of the church building, turn right again into a very small parking lot. At the end of the parking lot, you will see large red doors on your right. Enter these doors for our Thursday class. Enter the door on the opposite side of the parking lot for the Saturday class. There should be signs in the parking lot to help you. However, please see the map on this page for the exact location of English Corner. If you are coming for the first time on a Thursday evening, it is important that you come early at 6 pm as you will need to register and take an assessment test. This will help us to place you in a group with others who are at the same level of English as you. Hi Everyone, we're sorry to say that starting this week English Corner will be taking a break in order to maintain a safe space for everyone and prevent the spread of the coronavirus among us.
