ππ₯ Special Visitors for Kindergarten! π₯π
Today, our Kindergarten students were excited to welcome firefighters from Fire and Rescue NSW to Punchbowl Public School!
Students enjoyed learning about the important role firefighters play in keeping our community safe. They explored the fire truck, learnt about firefighting equipment, discussed fire safety at home and school, and had the opportunity to ask lots of thoughtful questions.
Experiences like these help bring learning to life, build community connections and inspire curiosity about the people who help us every day.
A big thank you to the firefighters from Lakemba Fire Station for taking the time to visit our students and share their knowledge and expertise. We loved having you at our school! ππ©βππ¨βπ
Another thank you to Miss Arthur for organising the incursion.

π Another exciting week of learning awaits at PPS!
π This week, students will take part in a range of enriching experiences, including the Bunmurra Corroboree Excursion, the Stage 1 Excursion, the Stage 2 Science Incursion and the ES1 Fire Safety Visit. πβ½ From all of us at Punchbowl Public School we wish the Socceroos the very best at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
We are proud to celebrate their journey and to show our students that some of Australiaβs greatest sporting talents have come through NSW public education pathways, including schools like Westfields Sports. Their success reminds our students that big dreams can start in local public schools just like ours, and with hard work and opportunity, anything is possible.

We had the amazing Snake Catcher Chris and Ranger Rosie from Urban Reptile Removal visit our school this week. Year 2 learnt how professional snake catchers do their job, which snakes to look out for, and most importantly, what to do if they ever spot one.
This visit was a perfect link to our HSIE unit on Workers in the Community. Chris and Rosie are real-life examples of the incredible people who keep our neighbourhoods safe every day β and our students got to meet them!
A massive thank you to Snake Catcher Chris, Ranger Rosie from Urban Reptile Removal team. You were an absolute hit!
- Mrs Fitz and the year 2 team.
