World Animal Day 🐘🐦🐒
What would an elephant sound like if it joined an orchestra? 🐘🎶
It’s World Animal Day, so today we’re turning the whole family into an animal orchestra!
🐾 Pick an animal
🎵 Make its sound
💃 Add a movement
🤔 Everyone else has to guess what you are!
Can you stomp like an elephant?
Hop like a kangaroo?
Flutter like a butterfly?
Or squawk like a very noisy parrot? 😂
Then let your little Maestro choose the next animal and lead the game.
No instruments required — just bodies, voices and plenty of imagination. 💛
What animal would your little one choose first?

🎶 UNIQUE INSTRUMENTS | #1 of 6
It looks a little like a flying saucer… 🛸
But this unusual instrument makes the most beautiful sound.
Meet the handpan.
Played with the hands and fingers, its different areas produce different notes, creating soft, resonant sounds that can almost feel like several instruments at once.
👂 Listening challenge:
Can your little one hear when the notes sound higher or lower?
Over the next weeks, we’re travelling beyond our usual Mini Maestros instruments to discover some wonderful sounds from around the world.
Have you ever heard a handpan being played? 🎶

Happy International Music Day! 🎶🌏
Today is a lovely reminder that music doesn’t need to be saved for music class.
It can be part of the everyday.
The song that gets everyone moving in the morning.
The silly one you sing in the car.
The familiar tune that helps a little body slow down at bedtime. 💛
So today, we have a Mini Maestros challenge for you:
🎵 Create your family's 3-Song Daily Toolkit
1️⃣ WAKE UP — one song to start the day
2️⃣ MOVE — one song for dancing, playing or getting out the door
3️⃣ WIND DOWN — one song for cuddles, quiet time or bed
Three songs. Three little rituals. Plenty of opportunities for connection.
What would make your family's three-song list? 👇

Sometimes the biggest change isn’t musical at all. 🌱
✨ Wednesday Wonderful Words ✨
“My daughter showed a noticeable improvement from the first session to the last. Her confidence, especially when interacting in class, increased significantly. We’re really happy with the progress.”
— Soraya Sodeifi
We love hearing about the notes, rhythms and songs children learn.
But hearing that a child is becoming more comfortable, more confident and more willing to interact?
That’s music to our ears. 💛🎶
Thank you, Soraya, for sharing your experience of Judy’s classes.

🐝✨
Music gives the brain quite the workout!
When little ones sing, listen, move and play instruments, they’re engaging multiple skills at the same time — listening, movement, memory, language, attention and more. 🧠🎶
So while your child might think they’re simply shaking an instrument and dancing to a favourite song…
their busy little brain is doing much more.
That’s the magic of learning through music and movement. 💛

What Happens in Term 4?
Term 4 at Mini Maestros is a little bit special… ✨🎶
Yes, it’s concert term — but there’s plenty of learning happening along the way!
Our littlest Maestros continue exploring beat, listening, movement and percussion, while older children build skills in singing, rhythm, musical form, notation, ensemble playing and even chime bars.
And throughout it all, we’ll be getting ready for one of our favourite moments of the year: the Mini Maestros end-of-year concerts. 💛
These aren’t about perfect performances. They’re a joyful celebration of how much each child has grown — and a chance for family and friends to share in the magic.

School holidays with the grandparents? Mini Maestros can come too! 💛🎶

Our Mini Maestros Lessons On-Demand are a lovely activity for children to share with grandparents — singing favourite songs, moving together and making some very special musical memories along the way.

And it means the music and learning can keep flowing over the school holidays, wherever your little Maestro happens to be.

Every confident little Maestro has a first class. 💛

For Gabrielle and her daughter, this was theirs. 🎶

New room. New faces. New songs. Lots to take in.

Gabrielle says she can’t wait to watch her little one come out of her shell — and neither can we. 🌱

Because sometimes the most beautiful changes happen slowly: watching first, joining in when they’re ready, then one day doing something that makes Mum think…

Where did THAT confidence come from? 🥹

Welcome to Mini Maestros, Gabrielle. We’re so glad you’re here.

There’s a reason you’ve sung THAT song 847 times… and your child still wants it again. 😂🎶

Familiar songs can be wonderfully reassuring for little ones — and making music together is doing far more than filling the silence.

Singing and musical play engage areas involved in sound, speech and movement, while supporting developing language, motor skills, creativity and connection.

And please note: nowhere does it say Mum or Dad needs a beautiful singing voice. 😉

Your slightly off-key kitchen rendition absolutely counts. 💛

So when your little one demands their favourite song again today?

Maybe give them an encore.

Clap. Clap. Hooray! 👏🐝

That steady little 1–2–3–4 your child is clapping along to is more than music.

Experiencing beat, rhythm and patterns gives young children playful opportunities to practise skills that connect with early mathematical thinking. 🎵➕🔢

And the best bit?

Your toddler has absolutely no idea they’re “learning”.

They’re far too busy clapping. 😄
