What a wonderful way to start the day! ☕🍩

Our Father's Day Coffee & Donuts Breakfast was a special opportunity for dads and father figures to spend time with their children before the school day began.

It was wonderful to see families enjoying a coffee, sharing a treat and fruit, and connecting with others in our community.

During the morning, Mr Hudson reflected on the words of 1 Corinthians 16:13-14:

"Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong. Do everything in love."

Using the word DONUT, he shared five encouragements for fathers:
Depend on God
Others First
Never Give Up
Uplift and Encourage
Trust God's Plan

Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make it such a warm and encouraging start to the day. Happy Father's Day to all the dads and father figures in our community.

Congratulations to our 2027 Student Leaders!

This morning, we were pleased to announce and congratulate our newly appointed 2027 Year Leaders and Senior Leadership Council at our Leadership Assembly. These students will begin their roles in Term 4, serving and representing our school community throughout 2027.

A special congratulations to our incoming 2027 School Captains, who received their badges from our outgoing 2026 School Captains.

As part of the assembly, our leaders committed to serving others, showing kindness, working together and leading with diligence and fairness. We look forward to seeing each of them grow in leadership as they seek to serve our William Carey community and honour Christ through their roles.

On Wednesday our Year 10 students participated in the Your Choicez program, spending a day focused on healthy relationships, personal values and positive decision-making.

In a world where young people are more connected than ever, building genuine and healthy relationships remains an important challenge. Through engaging discussions and practical activities, students were encouraged to reflect on their beliefs, behaviours and values while exploring topics such as respect, boundaries, communication and personal responsibility.

The program provided students with valuable tools and insights to help them navigate relationships safely and confidently, both now and in the future.

We love asking teenagers the question “What boundaries do you have in place at home with your phone?” 🤳

A Cosy Finish to Our WCCS Read-A-Thon! 📚 ✨

Today’s Comfy & Cosy Reading Day was a wonderful way to celebrate the end of our WCCS Read-A-Thon, with High School volunteers reading with Primary students and classes buddying up for cosy reading time.

Over the past five weeks, our amazing school community has raised over $13,000 for Tearfund, well beyond our original $10,000 goal, while encouraging students to grow their love of reading and their heart for others.

Thank you to all the students, families, teachers, staff and supporters who have been part of it! 💛

Our first-ever WCCS STEAM Fair! ⚙️🎨

Yesterday afternoon, our first-ever WCCS STEAM Fair came to life, and it was a wonderful success!

Students and their families had the opportunity to explore a range of hands-on activities across Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics, experimenting, creating, problem-solving and discovering along the way.
From electricity and circuits to magnets, sound, coding and more, there was plenty to investigate, with participants enthusiastically taking on challenges and exploring each station.

A huge thank you to all the staff and students who helped bring our first STEAM Fair together. It was fantastic to see so much curiosity, creativity and learning in action! 🧪🤖💡

Fireballs, rocket launches, and a giant balloon explosion! Year 7 and Year 9 got a front-row seat to the wonders of science last week during the 'Great Big Science Show'. With heaps of audience participation and wild experiments, it was a fantastic way to see science come alive.

On Friday and Saturday, 34 students and three staff set off on a Bronze Duke of Edinburgh hike in Glenbrook National Park. It was a wonderful couple of days, with students enjoying the challenge, the outdoors and some time away from the classroom.
