General information
Hayley undertook her full time dance training at The Victorian College of the Arts Secondary School (VCASS) and gained her Bachelor of Dance from VCA.
Since graduating Hayley embarked on an international professional career. She has recently returned from the United Kingdom where she was working with two of the countries most acclaimed dance companies; Rambert Dance Company and English National Ballet. Her role as dance artist for both companies saw her touring England, Scotland, China, Hong Kong and parts of Europe delivering repertoire based workshops, classes and large scale choreographic projects.
In addition Hayley performed for Biserk Dance Company (UK), Project Volume (UK), Moore Entertainment and Sankio Promotions (Japan).
Hayley is excited to be back in Melbourne and to be sharing her experience and passion for dance with Ballet and Contemporary dance students at The Space
Being asked to come on board at The Space has presented a hugely exciting opportunity for me. I am freshly arrived back in Melbourne after living and working abroad for nearly ten years. The United Kingdom and Europe are home to some of the richest dance culture in the world. I was fortunate enough to experience it though working with two of the most acclaimed dance companies; Rambert Dance Company and English National Ballet, among others. Through my roles with these companies, as a teacher, performer and choreographer, my eyes were opened to a world of possibilities involving dance in the community, in education and with people of all walks of life. This work, with people young, old and with a variety of dance experience was enormously fulfilling and truly concreted my belief that dance has the power to transform lives!
I am passionate about applying my experiences towards raising the profile of youth dance. I greatly look forward to building platforms and possibilities for young dancers through tsYdc, within the community and along side other similar youth orientated organisations.
