"There was no manual. No blueprint. Just curiosity, falls and breakthroughs." - Wellington Lima

Modern Trampwall didn't appear overnight. It was developed by artists willing to experiment, fail, refine and redefine what was possible.

This August, one of those artists is coming to NICA.
With more than 25 years performing with Cirque du Soleil and teaching around the world, Wellington Lima has helped inspire generations of Trampwall artists. Now he's sharing that experience through a limited series of workshops in Melbourne.

Whether you're looking to refine your technique, explore new movement, or train with one of the discipline's pioneers, this is an opportunity that rarely comes to Australia.

Now, he's bringing his knowledge to Australia for a series of special public workshops.

Jacob Kenner grew up playing soccer, AFL, and softball, and doing taekwondo, competitive gymnastics, and later, circus with Warehouse Circus.

Despite previously planning on becoming a builder, Jake auditioned for NICA in 2019, deciding that a “career in circus sounded far more exciting than hitting a nail with a hammer” (Jake’s words).

At NICA, Jake’s ‘tools’ became Hoop Diving, Diabolo and Group Acrobatics. Specialties that have taken to far more exciting places, including Cirque du Soliel, with whom he performed in December 2025 in ‘Twas the night before’.

It’s never too late to change the trajectory of your life. Apply Now to Audition for NICA’s 2027 courses.

Applications close 14 August. Visit www.nica.com.au/ed
