So.. what is a Recreational Pilot’s Certificate (RPC)? 🛫

A RPC is for people who enjoy aviation as a hobby, need to fly to and from remote properties, or want a stepping stone towards a career as a commercial pilot.

Gaining your certificate comprises 20 hours of dual instruction (flying with one of our friendly pilots) and 5 hours solo. Your knowledge in the air is complemented with ground school to ensure you have a well-rounded knowledge of all things flying.

Want to ditch the caravan and fly yourself all around our beautiful country? Add a navigation endorsement and you’re on your way.

No experience is necessary, you’ll learn at your own pace, and have an amazing experience along the way.

Great result Students well done, We look forward to our continued partnership with Mid North Christian College - Port Pirie

Today at our Aviation Graduation Ceremony we congratulated all our of 2022/2023 Aviation students for their hard work and commitment. Three,students were congratulated for their extensive work in specific areas.

Jayden Whittaker received awards for his flight skills from the College and The Port Pirie Flying Group. Owen Brown for excelling in the area of Basic Aeronautical Knowledge therefore receiving the Dux of Theory in the Aviation Course. Evan Mewett for his demonstration of his knowledge and Skill in engineering. He was also awarded by the Honourable Company of Air Pilots for his excellence in Aviation.

We extend our thanks to the following for their continued support, words of inspiration and encouragement at the assembly today.

The Recreational Aviation Australia, Flying, Instructor & Maintainer scholarships are now open. Our CFI George was a recipient of one of these scholarships in 2016 helping him to finish his flight training. We are more than happy to help step people through the application process.

Applications are now open for Flying, Instructor, and Maintainer Scholarships!

With the ongoing contributions from Airservices, OzRunways, GoFly Aviation, and our Flight Training Schools, the RAAus Scholarship Program will assist in making people’s aviation dreams come true.

Early This Morning Father Christmas conducted a Recreational Aviation Australia BFR in our Jabiru J160D. This Included reviewing legislation changes, flight planning and a flight test. He has now departed for the North Pole to get ready for tonights flight.
