MacKillop Punch Ticket to Sydney After Thrilling 2-1 Quarter-Final Victory!! ⚽⚽
MacKillop College’s Open Girls Soccer team has secured a place in the NSWCCC Finals series following a hard-fought 2-1 Quarter-Final victory over St Francis Xavier, Hamilton, on home soil.
We captured early momentum with a great goal scored by Charlotte Taylor in the opening 30 seconds of the match, setting the tone for a high-intensity, end-to-end clash. St Francis Xavier responded well under pressure, continually peppering shots on goal before leveling the scoreline at 1-1 just before half-time.
The decisive moment arrived 12 minutes into the second half. Standing over a free kick 30 meters out on the right edge of the box, Zora Boskovski launched a brilliant strike over the keeper's head and into the top of the net to restore MacKillop's lead.
From there, our midfield took control of possession to blunt the opposition's momentum. The backline held firm against late attacking raids, anchored by a standout performance from goalkeeper Maya Perry to seal the win.
MacKillop now turns its focus to the NSWCCC Final series, heading to Sydney on September 2 to compete for the state title. Well done girls!

This week, our college celebrated Mary MacKillop with our annual feast day mass and school wide activities. Every year our college celebrates the feast day of Saint Mary of the Cross MacKillop, honouring Australia’s first canonized saint, who dedicated her life to educating poor and vulnerable children. The day was filled with trivia, ball games, art workshops, sports, ‘Just Dance’ competitions, and many more activities with all year groups taking part. It was a day for bonding and making memories with friends, while enjoying a Pastoral Care picnic lunch too!
Thank you to all the staff and students who planned and participated in the day’s activities – your presence is what made the day truly special and a memorable way to pay honour to our patron saint, Mary MacKillop.

To celebrate Local Government week, Port Macquarie Hastings Council took 13 Year 10 students on tour to 4 different council sites, to show our students what career pathways are available via Local Government. This was a first time opportunity for our students to get a first hand look at where life after school could take them locally. The tour covered the Airport, the Glasshouse behind the scenes, the animal shelter and water operations.

We will be following your journey Hunter and know you will represent us all with pride!
Today is arrival day.
150 young Australians have landed in Canberra for National Youth Parliament 2026, one from every federal electorate in the country.
For many of them, this is the first time meeting anyone else taking part. There are nerves, there is excitement, and there are a lot of new names to learn. Tonight they settle in, share a meal and get ready for the week ahead.
Over the next five days they will step into Parliament House and the Museum of Australian Democracy to debate real legislation, work with parliamentary leaders and find out what they are capable of when someone hands them the floor.
They come from remote communities, country towns, outer suburbs and inner cities. Every state and territory is represented. More than 2,200 young people applied for a place.
Every cost is covered, including travel and accommodation, so that no young person misses out because of where they live or what their family can afford.
To the families who packed bags and said goodbye at airports this morning, thank you for backing them.
The week starts tomorrow. Follow along for stories and highlights!
