The underrated benefit of a flat sullage hose? Less stink. 👃

When it rolls flat onto the Multi-Reel, you’re squeezing out the water and most of the air before it goes into storage. Less air means less opportunity for the microbes left behind to multiply.

Add a smooth interior that’s easy to flush clean, and suddenly one of caravanning’s ickier jobs is a whole lot less… icky.

Twin hoses!

Roaming Coastlines travel Australia full-time, they keep one 7.5m hose in the Troopy and one 7.5m hose in the caravan.

One’s handy for filling the tanks on whichever vehicle needs it at the time, and when they need a longer run, they simply join the two together for 15m of reach. ✌️

Pretty clever setup for life on the road.

We totally screwed up… but I we actually gained more than we lost.

Sometimes the biggest lessons come from the situations you’d never choose to go through.

We lost a lot of money. We made mistakes. But looking back, there’s also a lot we gained from it - in business, in perspective and in knowing what we’d do differently next time.

If sharing that helps even one other person see something useful in a bad situation, then it’s worth talking about. 🩷

How to season your new drink water hose 🚰

Got a new drink water hose? Fill it with fresh tap water, let it sit, then flush it through regularly for around 30 seconds and refill.

Do that over a few days and you’ve given the inside of the hose a good fresh-water flush before heading away.

Bonus: the garden gets watered too. 🌱
